As a Mobile Plant Technician Apprentice, you'll be initially responsible for (but not limited to) the following:
· Assist and support technicians in the day-to-day tasks related to inspection, maintenance and repair of a
variety of mobile plant equipment (e.g. Forklift Truck, MEWPS & Site Vehicles);
· Fault find and repair any mechanically related problem;
· Develop practical skills in mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems;
· Work safely and in line with written procedures, carrying out your own risk assessment before commencing work;
· Ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety, and legislative requirements at all times;
· Actively take part in any training requested to enhance your role;
· Learn to use relevant tools, equipment and technology correctly and safely;
· Accurately record tasks, service logs, and maintenance findings;
· Work as part of a team of engineers to ensure jobs are carried out in the safest and most efficient way;

The Technical Support Technician will gather information and data from a range of sources and analyse the information/data. The apprentice will be able to problem-solve in accordance with AS13000 and produce and/or update technical documentation, reports or specifications covering areas such as quality, production or other technical documentation that informs others, either internally or externally, about what needs to be done, such as how a product must be manufactured, tested, modified, maintained, stored, transported.
In their daily work, there will be interaction with their line manager to confirm departmental programmes of work and to agree individual responsibilities. In your role you will be involved in:
The production of the welded assemblies needed for boiler pipe kits
Work is distributed on works order cards; this will let you know what and how many you are making and give you a list of what materials you need.
You will need to:
Collect the materials from our stores
Produce the item using the jigs and drawings that are provided to you
Fabricate and then final weld the assembly
This is a production environment, so we produce the same items repeatedly as ordered by our customer.Training:You will be required to attend Advance 2, Dudley College, 1-day per week in term time only.
You will be assigned an assessor who will visit you in the workplace every 8-weeks to support you with your apprenticeship
You will receive a Level 2 Engineering Operative - Fabrication & Welding qualification upon successful completion of your apprenticeship
If grade 4/C/Level 2 Functional skills are not achieved upon commencing your apprenticeship, you may have to resit these during your apprenticeship to achieve these grades

Working safely and wearing the correct PPE you will build frames from different materials so that concrete can be poured into these frames to produce the structure of the building being erected.
Above will be done in stages on a schedule so that the main structure of the building is built accurately and to the correct quality.
You will learn wood working skills, concrete terminology and different mixes used for different parts of the building.
Install re-inforcement materials where necessary as specified by the architect and the drawings.
Remove frames once concrete is set and check quality and dimensions to the correct drawings.
Use of hand and power tools will be required for this role and training will be given on their correct safe use.
Work will be mainly outside and some working at heights will be required.
Training:We are looking at training options but they are as follows:-
Block release to a local college in Stratford where you will study theory and practical lessons. When not at college you will be on site 5 days a week learning on the job skills to supplement your training.
2nd option is theory lessons on line usually from home once a week and the training provider will visit you on site regularly to check on your progress with practical skills.
Training Outcome:After the apprenticeship the apprentice can work as a full time Formworker or look at opportunities to progress into construction management or construction surveying or construction engineering via additional learning indpendently or via a higher apprenticeship.Employer Description:CoTrain is a program under SECBE .

You are required to attend from 8.30 to 4.30
ACE are flexible to meet the needs of its employers, so attendance can be changed if all parties agree
