Sinalda UK Ltd is a small family run business specialising in the supply of voltage stabilisers, power line conditioners, variable transformers and frequency converters. These are manufactured at their facilities in China and Taiwan.
The apprentice would assist in general testing of the above, along with fault finding and repairs. This would be at their facility in Caldecott but would sometimes require visits to sites across the UK.
You will be working under an experienced electrical engineer and may also be required to visit the overseas manufacturing plants for product familiarisation and if necessary, accompany other engineers on overseas site visits.
You will also be given dedicated projects on which you will be required to focus when not being actively supervised.You will carry out Technical Duties (Approximately 75%):

Key duties and responsibilities
The apprentice will be trained and supported to be able to carry out the following tasks in the duration of the apprenticeship contract:
Support the processing of monthly payroll payments in accordance with regulations.
Processing of employee related data, including personal details, claim forms, pension updates and contract changes in accordance with the financial and payroll timescales, statutory legislation, NHS regulations, local terms and conditions of service and standing financial instructions and policies relating to the payment and processing of pensions, salaries and wages.
Processing of payroll-related information to ensure employees are paid on time and accurately.
Liaise with the HR team and managers in respect of personnel data and processes.
Support HR and payroll-driven process changes and improvement
Input data into the HR and Payroll ESR database.
Maintain employee records accurately and efficiently (both paper-based and electronic).
Filing, photocopying, scanning, dealing with the incoming and outgoing post/emails, and other general administrative tasks.
Answering employee telephone queries and responding to general correspondence in writing or email.
Undertake any other duties commensurate with the grade and the nature of the post as directed by the payroll team leader.
To acquire a working knowledge of the NHS Pension Scheme in order to assist the Pensions section of the office with specific duties as required.
Training:

THE FIRST YEAR
You will start by learning the basics through an online bookkeeping course including the difference between credits and debits, sales and purchase, when VAT applies and lots more.
You will be assigned a Buddy who will be on hand to answer any questions and provide on-the-job training to support your academic learning.
You will have a personal development plan in place from Day One, providing step by step guidance on what’s needed to progress to the next level in your career journey.
You will learn how to use a variety of different accounting software systems including Sage, QuickBooks and Xero.
You will learn how to prepare draft working papers to support the preparation of accounts for sole traders, partnerships and small limited companies.
You will often work onsite at clients’ to assist with audit fieldwork supporting the rest of the audit team to ensure deadlines are met.
You will build relationships with clients through communicating with them regularly by requesting information along with answering queries.
YEARS TWO AND THREE
By the start of your second year, you’ll get more involved in the audits, taking a lead in some of the fieldwork.
You will work closely with other departments within the Firm on tax, payroll and bookkeeping matters.
You will have the opportunity to sit in client meetings so you can understand how your work is vital to their business.
You will become a Buddy to a new trainee to further your development.
Training:
An AAT apprenticeship is typically a three year programme, combining study with practical, on the job training and we’ll give you all the support you need to realise your full potential. At the end of the course you will be a qualified Management Accountant.
We use Starting Off as our training provider who provide weekly webinars for the course. Meeting tooms in the office are booked whilst you are attending the webinar.
The majority of our team then go onto a Level 7 qualification to become a fully qualified chartered accountant.
We provide generous study support including fully paid study leave as well as the course materials and exam entry fees.
There is still an element of study at home, as there is with any course.
