This is an exciting role for a confident rider or a non rider that just wants to do the yard work side and prepare the horses for shows and events.
The location is based on a beautiful yard with an indoor school and horse walker. The property has 20 horses on site from foals to older horses.
You will have the opportunity to break in a variety of young stock and will exercise up to 7 horses a day to keep them fit for the owners. The employer will cover the costs of you having flat and jump lessons weekly. You are able to compete with the horses also. The location breeds competition horses on a small scale every year, and the family bred the amazing Tamarillo!!
General yard duties will include:-
Preparing horses for shows
Plaiting
Grooming
Riding
Lunging
A truly great location which will allow you to treat the horses as your own.
This apprenticeship is practical, based onsite at the employers premises, so not lots of time spent sitting in a classroom. If you did not gain your GCSE's in maths & English at Grade 4 (or equivalent) we can support you to get these whilst on programme.Training:You will be working towards the Level 2 Equine Groom apprenticeship.
The training will be completed at the employers premises, with the employer and supported by Haddon Training.

Your role will include:
Working with children between the ages of 0-5 years, organising activities, being pro-active with the help and care carried out within the early years teaching sector

Day to day responsibilities and tasks will vary, but will include:
Carrying out day‑to‑day general maintenance of sports grounds
Marking out sports pitches and surfaces to required specifications
Aeration, mowing, and routine maintenance of sports surfaces

Ensuring ancillary areas, including viewing areas and pavilions, are kept tidy and safe
