A reputable educational firm, our client provides education for children and young people with severe intellectual disabilities within the autistic spectrum continuum.
The Role:
As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a pivotal role in providing support to the residential home during out-of-school hours.
Responsibilities:
? Collaborate with colleagues and professionals for child support.
? Prioritise health, well-being, and safety of children within the home.
? Enable effective communication between child / young person and parents / carers.
? Facilitate the contribution of each child / young person to household routines.
? Develop and update individual plans and support plans in collaboration with colleagues.
? Maintain compassionate and detailed records related to children/young people.
? Keep the young person at the centre during keyworker sessions and meetings.
? Carry out sleeping-in duties when required.
? Report concerns regarding safeguarding and child protection promptly to the Head of Residential Services or their deputy.
? Support young peoples learning and personal development.
? Advocate for their needs in schooling, healthcare, relationships, and social life.
? Work with all young people in the residential home.
Requirements:
? Experience working with children and young people or adults with additional educational needs.
? Ideally possess Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent or must attain within 2 years of starting employment.
? Background in working with students with diagnosed difficulties (SALT, ASD, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, etc.) (Desirable)
? Understanding of the Quality Standards. (Desirable)
