What you’ll do:
Observe, learn and understanding a wide range of civil engineering skills and processes which will eventually enable you to independently undertake tasks of a civil engineer.
Demonstrate skills during the training period, to undertake tasks as instructed and increasing overall contribution to the team.
Comply with all relevant health safety and environmental legislation and procedures taking personal responsibility for own and others Health and safety and welfare which is, or maybe affected by the work undertaken ensuring a safe working environment for colleagues and customers.
Attend college/ University to gain relevant qualification in Civil Engineering.
Understand how to interpret construction drawings and specifications, to enable you to give concise and accurate information to frontline construction and maintenance teams.
Develop your communication and liaising skills so you can effectively deal with colleagues, including internal and external stakeholders.
What we’re seeking:
A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C/4 or equivalent and a B/6 in maths or a level 2 English and Maths functional skills qualifications.
Excellent oral and written communication skills with a high standard of written English, spelling and grammar.
Good ICT skills with experience of using applications including Microsoft Word and Excel, email and the internet.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to be able to work with a wide range of people.
Excellent time management skills and strong attention to detail.
The ability to be able to work as part of a team as well as autonomously.
Full UK driving licence.
