Duties include:
Shampooing clients hair
Assisting and observing stylists
When a certain level of skill and understanding has been gained, the tasks will gradually increase to things like applying colours, blow drying, styling etc.
Advising clients on shampoos, conditioners and treatments
Greeting clients
Making refreshments
Maintaining a clean working environment
Training:
Level 2 Hairdressing Professional Apprenticeship Standard
Level 2 Diploma for Hair Professionals - Hairdressing
Functional skills in maths and English if required
Delivery method and location of training to be confirmed
Training Outcome:
On successful completion of Level 2 standard in hairdressing, there may be the opportunity to progress onto Level 3 Advanced Hairdressing Standard and a good training programme
Alternatively become a full time stylist running a column

Training:You will be working towards the Level 2 Diploma for Hair Professionals - Hairdressing qualification. Functional Skills Level 2 in English and maths will be provided for those without GCSE Grade 4/C (or equivalent) if required. You will undertake at least one day's training a week at our dedicated training centre. Training Outcome:You may wish to continue your learning and undertake a Level 3 qualification. You could use your qualification to become a self employed stylist, or to stay on and gain experience in the salon you are in. You could use your qualification to work in a salon abroad or a salon on a cruise ship!
