This role supports the day‑to‑day delivery of catering, cleaning and customer service within a large junior dining facility at Catterick Garrison. Working on the frontline, the General Service Assistant helps ensure that food service, dining areas and back‑of‑house spaces are maintained to a high standard. The role involves working flexibly across multiple service areas, including the main canteen and the on‑site “Farmacy” counter where milkshakes, smoothies and protein shakes are prepared. You will work closely with the Mess Manager and wider team to maintain service standards, uphold health and safety requirements and support the smooth running of the site. Public transport to the site is limited, so candidates should be local or able to travel by car. You must be 18 or over due to site requirements.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Essential Functions:
Responsible for all Construction Division activities in a respective region - including oversight and direction of Project Management, Installer Recruiting and Quality Assurance Managers.
Presents and promotes Stonhard's products and Construction Division services to General Contractors, Industrial and Commercial accounts, supporting the Stonhard Territory and Sales Managers.
Tracks, guides, and executes TPM, including forecasting in a respective region.
Leads weekly look-ahead calls with Regional Leadership team.
Direct management of Project Manager and Superintendents (as needed). Includes hiring, training, and performance management.
Direct oversight of Regional Large Project Protocol Program and Regional Red Flag Program.
Oversight of New TM training in accordance with Stonhard's New TM Training & Development program.
Works directly with the Regional Operations Manager (ROM) to ensure an up-to-date and accurate allocation and management of installation resources.
Schedules and conduct annual meetings with each installer (Sales management included). Prepares meeting notes with all take-aways/action items.
Coordinates with ROM on annual review meetings with each Installer (Sales management included).
Conducts required field rides and coaching trips with direct reports.
Reviews Installer performance reports each quarter and work with ROM/GM to address complex issues and develop strategies to achieve corporate objectives.
Minimum Requirements:
A proven ability to manage projects and clearly communicate key project tasks to Construction Division team, internal Sales and Sales Leadership team including installation subcontractors.
Demonstrates the ability to lead and organize a team.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Required travel can be up to 50%/time in the field.
Must possess reliable transportation (driving time in a typical day - 30%).
Valid Driver's License

Support the Production Manager to ensure projects are completed on programme
Manage consumables, maintenance, and general workshop organisation
Coordinate deliveries, including booking transport and liaising with sites and clients
Prepare and dispatch joinery items, ensuring correct wrapping and labelling
Act as workshop point of contact for site installers, preparing kits and ad-hoc supplies
Assist with finishing preparation including sanding, filling, masking, staining, and oiling
Maintain quality control standards prior to dispatch
Skills and Requirements:
Previous workshop or manufacturing experience (joinery preferred)
Strong organisational and time-management skills
Hands-on approach and comfortable with physical work
Experience with finishing preparation and basic workshop processes
Clear communicator with a proactive, problem-solving attitude
Reliable team player with a positive and professional manner
Good understanding of workshop health & safety

Key Responsibilities:
Administrative Support: Assist with general office administration tasks, including drafting emails, creating and maintaining Excel spreadsheets, and organising documents
Recruitment Support: Help with pre-screening candidates for recruitment, scheduling interviews, and taking minutes during meetings and interviews
Social media: Assist with managing and updating the company's social media pages to enhance their online presence
Daily Operations: Help create daily plans, assist with management duties, and update the Head of Operations' calendar
Training and Development: Work alongside the Business Development Manager to complete relevant training, take on increasingly complex tasks, and gain insights into the company's operational functions
Office Equipment: Utilise office equipment for administrative tasks, ensuring efficiency and smooth workflow
Tasks to include:
Incoming calls
Warm lead follow ups
Answering the phone
Pre-screening applicants
Attending apprenticeship days
CRM updating
Training:
You will be working towards the Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship
All training will be provided on site during your paid working hours
Your day-to-day mentoring will be with your employer, and a combination of monthly sessions will be held with your Training coach
Training Outcome:
There may be the opportunity to move into full-time standard employment for the right candidate
