Prax Lindsey Oil Refinery are looking for an Apprentice to train alongside our existing experienced team of Process Operators on all aspects of operational and process duties. As an apprentice you will study a range of programmes working towards a Level 3 Process Industry Manufacturing Technician standard, covering a variety of skills and qualifications while earning a wage and completing invaluable practical skills in industry and you can expect to cover the following duties:
Main Duties and responsibilities.
Start-up & shutdown the plant process as per operating procedures.
Operating the plant and process within the set production and safety & quality parameters.
Take samples as per the sampling schedule and procedure.
Complete daily logs and make notes of operational events and communicate to the Shift Team Leader and oncoming shift team.
Assist in the commissioning of new plant and equipment.
Carry out permit to work isolations, de-isolations.
Report any Health & Safety issues / incidents.
Report any Engineering issues.
Ensure good housekeeping standards are maintained on plant.
Training:Initially based at The Catch facility (Stallingborough) then on site based at Eastfield Rd, North Killingholme, North Lincolnshire, DN40 3LW Initially site training on days for up to 8 weeks then following a shift pattern – where apprentices are required to work both the day and night shift with experienced process operators to gain hands on learning.Training Outcome:

Summary of the role:
As an Apprentice CNC Machinist, you will work under the guidance and supervision of experienced machinists and learn the skills required to operate computer numerical control (CNC) machines. As an apprentice, you will be given visibility of a range of operation disciplines in which a personal development plan will be created for your learning and development needs associated to your role. This includes bespoke technical training within operations and shop floor placements around the business, aiding in development of mechanical and electrical systems in the aerospace industry, working on both commercial and military aircraft. During the final year of the apprenticeship, apprentices will move into a yearlong placement based on skills displayed during the 3 years on site.
Typically, you will be expected to follow all technician/engineering procedures, ensuring they are understood and adhered too as well as working from engineering drawings and documentation in order to undertake assembly, development, installation and testing. All apprentices must comply with statutory and organisational safety requirements and expected to work both individually and as part of a team. You are responsible for design, planning, and drawing work on all BT Tower and radio sites. These are vital connections to ensure our rigging engineers have the right detail and information to be able to install both BT and customer equipment across BT’s estate as well as clear structural faults.

Job Requirements/Personal Specification Training, Skills, and Abilities:
Effective communication and listening skills for customer interactions.
Health & safety training relevant to vehicle maintenance.
Proficiency with workshop ICT systems, diagnostic tools, and electronic job cards.
Expertise in diagnosing and repairing vehicle, plant, and equipment faults.
Accurate record-keeping skills.
Welding competency is advantageous.
Knowledge and Preferred Qualifications:Essential:
Completion of a recognised industry apprenticeship or Level 3 qualification in vehicle or plant engineering (e.g., City & Guilds Part II, BTEC National, ONC/D).
Literacy, numeracy skills, and a full, current driving licence.
Desirable:
Class C LGV licence and experience driving diverse vehicle types.
Experience:
Previous work in a large, diverse transport maintenance facility is desirable.
Proven expertise in servicing vehicles, diagnosing faults, and carrying out repairs.

Our 3 Year Apprenticeship Programme will see you develop both technically and personally, with the majority of your first year spent at HETA training centre in Hull completing some of the following training:
Foundational knowledge units including Engineering Mechanical & Electrical Science and Net Zero Sustainability
Specialist Electrical training including:
Electrical Wiring & Maintenance
Programmable Logic Control
Fluid Power
1 Day a week will be dedicated to the delivery of a BTEC Level 3 Extended Certificate in Engineering
Accommodation will be provided for Year 1 whilst at college, this will be in facilitated living alongside your peers.
Once you’re equipped with your foundation knowledge, you’ll join us on-site for Year 2 and 3 where you’ll work alongside our teams and start gaining valuable hands-on experience and training to further your understanding and start applying what you’ve learnt.
You’ll be assigned a mentor, who will oversee your development and training, offering valuable insights into career paths at Perenco.
Some of your activities on-site might look like the below:
Carry out maintenance on all Electrical equipment to the relevant Preventative Maintenance Routines (PMR’s) in Maximo
Carry out EX maintenance on all EX Electrical equipment
Complete work orders clearly to a high standard, including as much relevant information as possible. Raise any necessary follow ups in Maximo, including as much relevant information as possible
Complete any required P forms for adding or removing maintenance to equipment
Raise any necessary Work Control Certificates (WCC’s) for non-routine tasks, including level 2 WCC’s
Raise any necessary Isolation Control Certificates (ICC’s) for both electrical tasks and tasks for other trades that require an isolation
Produce switching procedures for any High Voltage (HV) switching
Carry out switching including isolations and de-isolations of low and high voltage electrical equipment
Take part in planning and executing any work associated with the annual slowdowns / shutdown
Training:
Our Apprentices will undertake a Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician, Level 3 (A level)
This will include a full-time period of practical workshop based ‘off-the-job’ training at HETA in Hull
You will also begin a technical certificate (depending on your prior attainments) where you will be required to attend HETA one day a week over two academic years
After your initial training at HETA, you will be working towards your End Point Assessment.

You will undertake a planned rotation within appropriate departments in order to gain the skills, and competence to complete the Standard requirements. In addition you will attend education both part time and on block release to achieve the Knowledge, Behaviours and, Competencies as required by the apprenticeship. Training:
Training will take place on block release at College
Mandatory and role specific training will take place at the depot
You will complete the Rail Engineering Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship standard which will include a knowledge and a competency qualification

Training:Junior Science Apprentices employed at NPL study the Level 3 Metrology Technician Apprenticeship over three years.
A wide mix of training is provided for the duration of the apprenticeship, combining the daily tasks in the science groups where the apprentice is based, formal off-the-job training and the opportunity to practise new skills in a real work environment. 30 days per year of training at NPL will form the core of the off-the-job training. It is organised into 6 compulsory blocks per year, each of five days duration in Teddington. Further off-the-job training will then be built into your workplace activities. You will experience a diverse and varying work load during your tenure with us. You may be at college one day learning the theory, and the next day putting it into practice on site with one of our mentors.
Daily duties could range from:
Installing
Maintaining
Repairing electrical services
Whether the work will be indoors or outdoors, you will diagnose and rectify faults on various circuits and equipment.Training:You will study your Technical Certificate and Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electrical Installation with Gloucester College at their site in Gloucester. This will be delivered on day/block release throughout the 4 years. You will also gain extensive 'on the job' training
There are also various in house training courses as well as external courses to include PASMA, IPAF, First Aid, CSCS, etc.
This apprenticeship aligns with the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) for Technician Member (TMIET).
This apprenticeship aligns with The Electrotechnical Joint Industry Board for ECS Gold Card. Operate at an appropriate level carrying out designated tasks for the repair and overhaul of traction equipment within the team assigned

You will undertake a planned rotation within appropriate departments in order to gain the skills, and competence to complete the Standard requirements
In addition, you will attend education both part time and on block release to achieve the Knowledge, Behaviours and, Competencies as required by the apprenticeship. Attendance outside of standard work patterns should be expected
Provide technical support to the site teams in the provision of primary fault finding/reporting
Provide basic maintenance competency e.g.: side skirt cleans, brake pads, block changes etc.
Provide corrective maintenance (Electrical or Mechanical)
Provide preventative maintenance (Electrical or Mechanical)
Provide secondary fault finding
Carry out Testing & Re-commissioning activities in accordance with pre-written test and commissioning procedures
Functionally test systems with minimal supervision using a variety of techniques and methods, including the use of computer-based diagnostics systems
Training:
You will complete the Level 3 Rail Engineering Technician Apprenticeship which will include a knowledge and a competency qualification
You will complete mandatory training
You will receive role specific training

Subject to business needs we would expect to put you in your first role on successful completion of your apprenticeship.

You will work within the Health and Safety Department, reporting to and assisting the Health and Safety Director and Advisor.
Full training will be given, duties to include:
· Booking and Managing the Training Database.
· Printing and creation of Site H&S Folders.
· Liaising with Site and Contracts Managers.
· Data input across our H&S Systems.
· Support the monitoring of performance against the Safety, Health and Wellbeing strategy and objectives, system, standards, processes and procedures.
· Administrative duties to the H&S Department.
