Apprentice Mechanical Fitter
As our Apprentice Mechanical Fitter, you will work to develop competence in:
Attending scheduled maintenance activities to identify and fix potential problems before they become catastrophic Carrying out Regular checks for damage or wear, and to ensure that equipment is working properly Cleaning and lubricating assets to ensure they are fit for purpose and working within guidelines Attending breakdowns, Identifying the cause of a problem using diagnostic tools as well as fixing broken parts or replacing defective components There will also be the role of ensuring mechanical parts are in a safe working condition this will include communicating any issues to other Technical Experts Utilising I.T. equipment to provide updates on job roles Following health and safety practices and attending relevant trainingTraining:
Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician Level 3.
The apprenticeship training is delivered at Appris on a day release basis. There is also site work consisting of building a portfolio of evidence of your competence in the specialism.
Training Outcome:
The role comes with a progression plan which links to pay increases. This can also include expanding on technical expertise and/or leadership skills.

Complemented by employability workshops, experiential team building sessions and social activities, our apprentice remain strong as a cohort throughout their career at Yorkshire Water.
Working Hours :
Monday to Friday 37 hours per week, this could be 8am to 4pm. Upon completion of the apprenticeship the role will require some unsociable working hours.
