Job Summary
Under general supervision, the Quality Technician I is responsible for inspection of purchased and manufactured hardware, maintenance of equipment calibration system, generation of Quality metrics and management of discrepant materials dispositioned through the Material Review Board.

Essential Duties

Performs first article and other inspections of Legend Brands manufactured products, as well as components purchased from its suppliers. Initial point-of-contact for Operations for part and materials quality issues that impact manufacturing; assists in defining problems and helping to develop solutions. Performs receiving inspection (when required) of incoming hardware on a random basis using AQL sampling plans. Performs random inspection of finished goods for compliance to specification, reports findings to Quality and Manufacturing managers. Assists in performing manufacturing process audits and report findings to the Quality Assurance and Manufacturing managers. Helps conduct trend analysis and other studies as appropriate to assist Quality Engineering in evaluating potential corrective action of quality issues. Facilitates the Legend Brands equipment calibration system including identification and tracking of all calibrated equipment, maintenance of the calibration data base, and coordination with the company's calibration services provider. Works with other Quality personnel to produce periodic reports on first pass yield/cost of quality, inspection results, MRB dispositions and other quality metrics as appropriate. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED required. Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Hiring Range:
Between $20/hr. - $23/hr.

On a daily basis you’ll work within one of our service centres where you will learn to:
Service and repair a diverse fleet of specialist temperature control equipment, such as fluid chillers, pumps, heat exchangers and air handling equipment
Inspect and performance test a wide range of equipment in preparation for hire
Assess equipment to ensure compliance with the correct operational and safety guidelines
Diagnose and rectify both simple and complex faults and perform effective repairs
Order replacement parts and fit them correctly, within specified time scales
Maintain accurate and comprehensive service and maintenance records
Develop in-depth product knowledge - becoming an expert in the field of temperature control
Participate in project management meetings and customer site visits
Build excellent working relationships with customers and understand their business needs and requirements
Become an ambassador for our “Customer First” culture, resolving any issues quickly and keeping your colleagues and customers informed, so they feel truly valued

Manage multiple tasks and deadlines as part of a varied workday in a fast-paced operational environment
Training:You will be completing a level 3 Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heat Pump Engineering Technician Apprenticeship Standard. This will be delivered using a combination of:
All apprentices must achieve a “Level 2 Certificate in F Gas and ODS Regulations Category 1” as this is a legal requirement under the EU F Gas Regulation 517/2014 to work on equipment containing Fluorinated Refrigerants.
Functional skills in English and maths if required.
Workplace experience to gain practical skills
Guidance and training from an experienced workplace mentor
Industry recognised training leading to an apprenticeship qualification. You will attend the College of Northwest London one day per week for training

As a Degree Engineer Technician, we’ll work in partnership to create a personal development plan designed to focus on the specific learning and development needs associated with your role. You’ll gain exposure to a wide range of disciplines including bespoke technical training within Engineering placements around the business, aiding in development of mechanical and electrical systems in the Aerospace industry, working on both commercial and military aircraft.
You must be able to work on your own initiative, and as part of a team and have an enthusiasm for learning as 6 years will be dedicated to your studies. Due to the rotational structure of the first 3 years, you will need to be an individual that embraces change and adapts to new situations successfully, with the confidence to ask questions and absorb information.
On completion of the Apprenticeship you will have the ability to work with minimum supervision, taking responsibility for the quality and accuracy of work you undertake and will proactively find solutions to problems and contribute to key process improvement initiatives.

Training:The structure of the Degree Apprentice programme will be as follows:
Year 1 & 2– Work based learning, whilst attending day release at Bournemouth and Poole College to complete a Level 4 Higher National Certificate (HNC). An element of rotation will be included during your time on site to provide a broader perspective of the business and also to fit the needs of the curriculum
Year 3 – The rotational structure will continue, and you will be gaining experience within functional specialisms and Integrated Project Teams on a 6 month placement structure. You will continue with your professional studies through day release at Bournemouth University, studying towards your Level 5 Foundation Degree (FdEng)
Year 4 & 5 – The rotational structure will be removed, and you will be within a permanent job role which fits your interest, the needs of the business and your development . Continuing with another 2 years of study, you will work towards completion of your full degree (BEng)

Our Vehicle Damage Paint Technicians work within the Volkswagen Group Approved Repairer network to help return our customers vehicles back to factory standards following accidents including bumps and scrapes. This means that our customer’s vehicles will become as good as new.
Paint Technicians are responsible for preparing vehicles to be painted after damage has occurred or once panels have been replaced. This will include repairing minor scratches to match the rest of the vehicle. Some of the day-to-day duties include:
Ensuring all parts have been stripped from the vehicle in order for it to be painted.
Sanding down relevant area and adjoining area for blending.
Masking out areas to be treated.
Etching and priming areas to be treated.
Selecting matching and mixing colours using the approved
Volkswagen Group colour palette.
Spray painting panels or vehicle parts using a variety of techniques to ensure a factory standard finish.
