Specific knowledge and experience of GEC Gas Turbines
Knowledge of Rolls Royce Avon, Olympus or RB211 gas generators would be highly desirable / beneficial

Field Service Engineer (Controls & Instrumentation) – Key Responsibilities
Complete controls, electrical, instrumentation site-based inspections, outages and upgrades which focus on the servicing and repair of gas turbines and power turbine assemblies in the 10 to 80 MW range along with Ruston Gas Turbine units TA and TB units.
Servicing and maintenance of gas turbines packages and their associated control systems. Typically, Control Logix5000, Allen-Bradley PLC-5 controls, including Bentley-Nevada 3500 vibration equipment. (Experience with the Rustronic MkII controls system would be an advantage.)
Carryout operational trouble shooting and fault finding on gas turbine packages and their associated control systems, experience with control of any associated rotating equipment, would be an advantage.
Service and maintenance of control networks and data transfer systems between control devices and DCS systems.
Interrogation of HMI systems during trouble shooting exercises including data gathering and event capture techniques.
Carryout instrumentation and equipment calibration and loop checking as part of servicing or commissioning turbine associated systems for pressure, level, flow, temperature and vibration equipment.
Carryout minor software and system parameter changes/adjustments on the controls systems to ensure efficient gas turbine operation.
Inspect, service and maintain auxiliary systems supporting gas turbines, including fuel and lubrication oil systems typically including pumps, valves, motors, and similar components. Electrical experience and knowledge would be an advantage.

Precision People has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Service Engineer to join our client-growing company within the automated access control industry. They are looking for a Gate Engineer who is confident working on a range of equipment to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. Other titles may include Field Service Engineer, Gate Automation Engineer, Electric Gate Engineer, Barrier Engineer, Automatic Gate Engineer or Access Control Engineer.
Candidate locations could include Loughborough, Mountsorrel, Rothley, Melton Mowbray, Nottingham, Leicester, Ashby De-La-Zouch, Syston and Shepshed and North Leicestershire.
The Role of Gate and Barrier Engineer:
To service and maintain a wide range of Sliding, Swing and Automated Gate Systems, Barriers & access controls.
Duties and responsibilities will include:
- Electrical servicing and repairs
- Working with Roger Technology, CAME, BPT or BENINCA manufacturers
- Perform routine maintenance
- Completion of breakdown repairs & planned remedial works
- Delivering excellent face-to-face customer service
- Working as part of a small team
- Equipment retrofits / Upgrades
- On-site Health & Safety
- Ensuring that works are carried out in compliance with current health, safety and environmental requirements
The Candidate: Gate and Barrier Engineer
- Previous experience as an Electric Gate/ Barrier Engineer
- Must have experience in servicing, installing, commissioning or repairing Automatic Electric Gates, Barriers, Access Control Equipment and Bollards
- Previous experience of working in a field-based role or happy to cover travel in the Midlands
- Good communication skills with a range of individuals; customers to site operatives
- City & Guilds - Electrical Installation qualification desirable
- Knowledge of a range of manufacturers including Roger Technology, CAME, BPT or BENINCA would be beneficial
- Commutable to the company office in Loughborough
- Must hold a Full Clean UK Driving Licence
Salary/Package: Gate and Barrier Engineer
- £35,000 per annum
- Salary is dependant on experience
- Hours of work: Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm
- Overtime available
- Company Vehicle and Fuel Card

Senior Electrical Design Engineer
Salary up to £60k (DOE)

The Senior Electrical Design Engineer will oversee junior staff and undertake engineering designs, provide project management and administration duties and to monitor design team costs taking into account the programme and budget provided for each of the projects. The Senior Electrical Design Engineer will also be responsible for undertaking fee assessments and providing fee bids for projects as directed.
Key Responsibilities
- To carry out Electrical design and project management of various types of projects in accordance with the company aims and policies
- To manage design team and provide Electrical engineering support to all Electrical engineers
- Liaise with clients and attend meetings on all aspects of the projects
- Carry out surveys and produce reports
- Carry out quality inspections of projects.
- Formulate Electrical standards within the organisation
The Right Person
The successful Senior Electrical Design Engineer will have experience in the following areas:
- Experience and knowledge of current Building Regulations, specifically energy related controls etc
- Working for a large contractor in a design capacity
- Production of drawings manually. CAD experience essential
- Carry out tender analysis of returned tender packages
- Production of budget costings for all aspects of services
- Carry out site surveys
- Carry out on-site project management
- Knowledge of:- CIBSE Guides, IEE Regulations, CDM Regulations, British Standards, Revit / BIM
- Qualified to at least HNC or Degree Level
