Experience risk management during the pre-construction process to minimise project risks whilst maintaining safe project delivery

Develop O&M ‘data library’ and standard O&M template to drive efficiencies through the close out process

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The Specification Specialist reviews and develops project specifications and Scopes of Work to ensure compliance with local building codes, industry standards, and company standards, using their expertise to select appropriate items based on project requirements. We are looking for an Associate Specification Specialist to support our Pacific Northwest Region.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop AIA MasterFormat specifications that comply with Tremco requirements, purchasing agreements, local building codes, and industry standards (NRCA, SPRI, Factory Mutual, etc.). Develop specifications in compliance with IBC, IECC, and Tremco-specific requirements & standards Develop specifications based on individual project Scopes of Work, using expertise, experience, and best practices to select appropriate items. Assist Estimators in understanding specifications for bid preparation and pricing. Calculate wind-uplift design pressures based on project specifics. We are working with a market leading and pioneering business in the renewable energy and electric vehicle sector, in its search for an In-House Counsel. This exciting business based in the North East of England, has a small but well regarded and integral In-house legal team which is looking to grow and the position will suit a Solicitor with a background in a Commercial legal practice area, ideally with contracts experience and ideally c. 1-4 years PQE or equivalent.
The role
You will advise stakeholders on a wide range of legal matters but in particular, will be involved with the draft, review and negotiation of a variety of commercial contracts, often with customers which include major brand name corporates and public sector bodies. In addition to this, you will be involved in compliance work as well as matters relating to corporate, real estate and construction projects. This is a brilliant and truly well-rounded commercial in-house position. The ideal candidate with be able to travel to the company's offices in County Durham on a regular basis although the business is very flexible and happy to consider different working arrangements.
About you
The role ideally requires some experience of working with commercial agreements and in return you can expect to be exposed to cutting edge work and truly interesting and high-profile projects.
