GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The Quality Manager manages the Quality Process to ensure we are effectively meeting our key business metrics and satisfying all customer product requirements. Key responsibilities include Quality, Lean and Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement with responsibility for ISO quality systems and compliance. Constructs succession plans to ensure sustainability and continuity of area of responsibility. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversee all quality-related functions in the plant. Act as primary plant liaison with Customers dealing with their processing issues. Participate in the development of specifications for processing, products, and materials. Work directly with Corporate and local Purchasing on vendor quality or supply issues; assist with vendor selection and qualification. Manage ISO Quality systems. Lead the lean/six sigma initiatives in the plant. Respond to and report on customer complaints - manage the root cause investigation, corrective action implementation and follow up, and the SAP quality process. Interact professionally and timely both verbally and in writing with customers and sales force. Develop quality standards for raw materials and finished products. Oversee all lab functions and personnel, assuring safety and integrity of those operations. Test on raw materials and finished product as required. Implement material cost-saving plans where and when appropriate. Participate in annual budget planning. Assist in all compliance activities, especially Hazcom and maintaining SDS system. Other projects/tasks as assigned. EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: Degree in Quality, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials, Polymer, or Business. Bachelor's degree in engineering or quality preferred. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: Four to seven years related experience and/or training. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: ISO certified preferred. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Indicate if required or preferred. ISO knowledge. Six Sigma / Lean Thinking. Training experience. Rubber chemistry background. Extrusions knowledge. Strong communication skills (written, verbal). Confidentiality. GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The EHS manager is accountable for the development and implementation of Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security (EHS&S) programs and best practices to ensure compliance with governmental agencies and alignment with Construction Products Group EHS&S standards. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Develops and communicates standards of EHS&S code of conduct, ensures mutual understanding, and mitigates exposure to hazardous / undesirable conditions in our business operations and product uses. Leads the development and implementation of comprehensive regulatory compliance programs in the areas of occupational health and safety, hazardous materials management, environmental management, transportation materials safety, security and product compliance. Interprets regulations, develops legislatively compliant, organizationally appropriate standards for Tremco CPG. Conducts EHS&S audits, documents statistics with respect to EHS&S program compliance, and makes recommendations with respect to annual safety program changes and objectives. Represents CPG with professional organizations, regulatory bodies and governmental agencies. Serves as the primary point of contact for Tremco CPG EHS&S business unit operations and associated EHS&S staff. May act as expert witness in the event of investigations and legal proceedings. Maintains up-to-date knowledge and relevant documentation with respect to EHS&S rules, regulations and legislation, as applicable to business operations and product mix. Researches best practices and investigates program innovations, both broadly and with respect to chemicals manufacturing, distribution and disposal, and makes recommendations regarding policy gaps and program improvement opportunities. Prepares recommendations with respect to pending or anticipated changes in legislation, and develops proactive, cost effective program options in support of chemical product and regulatory changes. Travel to and work with Tremco CPG locations as needed to serve as a resource to Tremco CPG operations regarding policies, standards and best practices with respect to EHS&S compliance, hazardous materials management, and product compliance. Develops and implements enterprise-wide programs for EHS&S compliance and delivers tools and training to ensure organizational compliance with regulations and best practices. Identifies and corrects non-code compliant processes by formal audits and makes recommendations to rectify compliance issues and mitigate risk of accident / liability. Ensures that all business units are aware of, and that programs are in place to train and resource employees to comply with Tremco Construction Products Group and RPM EHS&S standards. Assesses EHS&S human resources requirements in medium and long term, and prepares plans to develop and/or recruit needed talent to achieve organization objectives. Prepares, implements and monitors the annual program budget, and takes corrective action on budget variances. Provides analysis and recommendations with respect to financial implications of product, program and regulatory changes, including cost / benefit analysis of program improvements to mitigate the financial impact of EHS&S related accidents / incidents. EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: Bachelors degree from a 4-year accredited college or university in 4 year College or University degree in Natural Sciences (Chemistry, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or Safety Sciences) EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: 4-10 years' experience leading and contributing to compliance and regulatory policy and program development in a materials processing environment. Formal training in occupational health and safety is a must. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Board of Certified Safety Professionals - Certified Safety Professional certificate. OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to travel across North America approximately 25% of the time. Broad understanding of regulatory compliance requirements, risk assessment and mitigation programs in multiple (particularly North American) jurisdictions. Ability to inspire others to commit to and achieve EHS&S program goals and performance measures in a production environment with varying levels of literacy and educational background. Ability to develop a business case for new program development / program modification. Ability to manage program administration requirements across multiple, disparate (production, distribution, warehousing, sales, and marketing) divisions. ISO 9001 and 14001 are highly preferred.
