Key responsibilities

Deliver a range of services to service users to ensure their independence is maximised in line with the outcomes set in the individual plans, encouraging and enabling service users where possible to undertake tasks for themselves, eg dressing, washing, feeding, socializing, managing finances. Administering non-invasive medication where necessary and in line with the care plan.

Carry out assessment tasks, maintaining and updating records as required, and undertake regular checks and report any significant issue to the relevant person and your supervisor, where necessary take immediate action.

Contribute to discussions on Individual Care Programmes for service users, act as a key worker, and ensure the proper completion of both client and management records in accordance with service policies.

In the event of situations likely to threaten the safety or security of service users implement any initial action within defined procedures and report immediately to the Senior Support Worker (SSW).

Undertake simple domestic tasks and additional duties as identified by the SSW with due attention to Health and Safety legislation and appropriate hygiene standards.

Liaise with service users and help service users to maintain contact with family, friends and community in a professional manner, whilst respecting confidentiality at all times.

As a Chef apprentice, you will...
Prepare, cook and present food which meets specs and customer expectations
Maintain hygiene levels and safety regulations in the kitchen to help to guarantee the safety of your entire team and visitors
Communicate clearly with your team in order to provide high-quality meals to customers on time
Keep up to date with new products, menus and promotions
What your apprenticeship includes
A mixture of face-to-face and Skype/phone catch-ups every 4 - 6 weeks to discuss feedback and progress
A mixture of on and off-the-job training, including workshops and webinars
Reviews every 12 weeks with your Line Manager and apprenticeship trainer
The chance to get Functional Skills in English and maths (if you don't already have GCSE)
A Chef Apprenticeship Qualification once you have completed the 15-month programme
