Permanent role based in Leicester commutable from Countersthorpe, Lutterworth, Narborough, Leicester, hinckley and surrounding areas
Our client is looking for an experienced MIG Welder/fabricator to join their expanding team. They would like someone who is ambitious with a view to managing the workshop

Start time 08.00. Finish time 17.00 Monday to Friday
Overtime paid at a premium
JOB PURPOSE
To report to the Managing Director
To MIG weld and Fabricate Steel
To read all engineering drawings
THE MIG Welder
CANDIDATE:
- Ability to MIG Weld steel
- Previously experience in structural Welding
- FThe drive to progress with a view of running a workshop
- Highly skilled fabricator who can read engineering drawings cope with varied jobs and materials.
- More than 3 years industry experience welding and fabricating (desired but not essential)
- Candidate should be able to work on their own initiative.

Read and interpret engineering drawings
Assemble components by welding them together
Ensure finished welds are of a good standard and the required size
Use a variety of tools, welding equipment and overhead travelling cranes
Implementation and adhering to all health and safety policies and complete all paperwork relating to health and safety
Training:
You will attend Hopwood Hall College on a day-release basis, completing your Level 3 qualification over 48 months
You will follow a learning plan in the workplace, supported by a mentor
Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge)
Training Outcome:
Once qualified, you will become a Fabricator Welder and depending on your progress you might have the opportunity to become a foreman

- Ability to MIG and TIG Weld stainless steel 2mm - 20mm
- Highly skilled welder fabricator who can read engineering drawings cope with varied jobs and materials and positional weld.
- More than 3 years industry experience welding and fabricating Aluminium (desired but not essential)
- A full Uk driving licence would be an advantage
- Would need to be flexible to work on site
- Candidate should be able to work on their own initiative.
