About the team
This team works to safeguard children and young people when going through CIC proceedings and through the care leavers process. For the young people going through the care leavers process, the team work to support and empower each individual to build skills for living independently. Working effectively with connected teams such as children’s safeguarding and fostering teams is key to the success of each case. The team works very directly with each child to ensure they are settled, can make sense of the changes in care and aid in their recovery from experiences prior to this.
About you
The successful candidate will have extensive experience with children looked after procedures as well as in a children’s frontline team. A degree within Social Work (Degree/DipSW/CQSW) with a minimum of three years’ post qualification experience in permanent contracts is essential for this role (a completed ASYE is counted as one completed year). A valid UK driving licence and car is not essential but desirable for the role.

We are searching for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our clients design team. In this role you will be responsible for the design, engineering and specification of new products alongside the maintenance of our clients existing product range.
You will report to the Technical Engineering Manager and alongside the Design team you will be expected to generate production ready designs and help ensure the smooth running of the department. You will ensure that new products are designed and developed within the agreed timescales and to the standards expected.
ROLE DUTIES
Work closely with the Technical Engineering Manager and the Design and Development department you will take products from conception to detailed engineering drawings for manufacture.
You will determine manufacturing methods for engineering designs accounting for both inhouse and external manufacture capabilities.
You will carry out DFMEA at the outset of each project, monitoring the completion of actions identified and working with the development team to identify product design failure modes.
You will ensure that tolerance analysis is carried out during the design process, allowing for ease of manufacture, product function and eliminating tolerance build up issues during product manufacture and assembly.
You will be working with all departments involved in the NPD program, in particular, Development, Production Engineering & Purchasing, ensuring design for manufacture is implemented prior to product handover.
You will work with the Production Engineering department to optimise designs to reduce costs, increase efficiency and maintain product quality.
You will ensure Bill of Materials spreadsheets are generated during the design process enabling Production Engineering to generate product manufacturing costs.
You will ensure new product progress feedback sheets are filled out and kept up to date.

Apprentice Shipping & Export Assistant
Full training will be provided throughout the apprenticeship.
Key Responsibilities:
Export Administration & Shipping
Assist in preparing packing lists, including carton contents, weights, dimensions, and volumes
Receive, unpack, and check incoming goods to ensure they match purchase orders and customer requirements
Assist with packing and repacking of goods for UK and export shipments
Ensure products are correctly labelled and marked for shipments
Arrange the dispatch of goods and ensure all relevant documentation accompanies shipments
Coordinate the collection of goods from suppliers or arrange collections through freight forwarders under the guidance of your line manager
Prepare samples to be sent to customers
Documentation
Learn to prepare and process export documentation, including:
Commercial invoices
Packing lists
Certificates of origin
Bills of lading
Airway bills
Assist in checking shipping documents for accuracy before dispatch
Support your line manager in the preparation of documents required under letter of credit
Maintain accurate records of all shipping and export activities
Order Processing & Supplier Liaison
Check purchase orders and supplier acknowledgements for accuracy
Enter and update order information within the company’s management systems
Taking orders over the phone and processing them
Liaise with suppliers, customers, freight forwarders, and overseas agents to ensure orders progress smoothly
Assist with monitoring delivery schedules and shipment status
Verify supplier invoices and ensure documentation is correctly filed
Administration & Filing
Maintain electronic and physical filing systems, ensuring documents are stored accurately and promptly
Upload and index emails, correspondence, and supporting documents within the company document management system
Assist with organising incoming and outgoing post and courier shipments
Ensure records are kept up to date and comply with company procedures
Customer & Business Support
Communicate professionally with customers, suppliers, and partners via email and telephone
Assist in obtaining freight quotations and providing shipping information to customers
Welcome visitors to the office and assist with basic hospitality arrangements
