This Junior Account Executive (JAE) / Account Executive position is ideal for someone in the early stages of their PR career who wants to develop specialist expertise within technology communications.

For candidates joining at Junior Account Executive level, the salary is £25,000 to £27,500 depending on experience, with competitive salaries benchmarked against the wider industry and reviewed annually.

Previous technology experience is important, while previous PR agency experience would be highly beneficial. You could be looking to establish yourself as a Junior Account Executive, already be working as a JAE and looking to progress, or be an Account Executive looking for an environment where you can develop your media relations and creative campaign skills.

The successful Junior Account Executive / Account Executive will need to understand how journalists think. You'll be curious enough to investigate complex technology topics, creative enough to uncover interesting angles and confident enough to pick up the phone and sell those ideas to the media.

This role particularly suits someone who enjoys the hunt involved in media relations. Pitching should not simply feel like another task on your list. You'll enjoy finding the right journalist, developing the right angle and seeing a conversation turn into meaningful coverage.

Working across a portfolio of technology brands, from growing businesses to established companiesDeveloping a strong understanding of clients, their technology and the markets in which they operateKeeping on top of technology news, media trends and the wider news agendaIdentifying stories and creative angles that journalists will genuinely want to coverBuilding and maintaining relationships with journalists and other key media contactsOwning elements of the media outreach process, from developing angles and writing pitches through to securing coverageConfidently pitching stories to journalists via telephone and emailDrafting press releases, bylined articles, social media content, pitches and other communications materialsAdapting your writing style for different clients, audiences and platformsSupporting creative PR campaigns across both B2B and B2C audiencesConducting media monitoring and producing clear campaign reportsEvaluating campaign performance and helping the wider team identify opportunities to improve resultsContributing ideas during brainstorms, client discussions and campaign planningSupporting the wider account team to keep campaigns organised and progressing effectivelyHere are the skills you'll need:
