Electrical wholesalers sell the products we all use in our homes, businesses, entertainment venues, and cafes that give us access to electricity, from lighting our homes through to floodlighting a football match, from recharging a mobile phone to recharging an electric vehicle. The products you will be working with are used in domestic, industrial, and commercial settings, and are installed by contractors and electricians.
This Busy Edmundson Electrical branch is looking for a highly motivated apprentice to join our busy branch. After full training, responsibilities will include:
Managing stock in and out (to external clients)
Picking and packing
Store transfers & stock control
Completing the paperwork within the office
Raising quotations
Trade counter
Sales calls
Processing orders
Administration
Answering the telephone
Some heavy lifting will be involved
Training:Completing a Trade Supply Apprenticeship Level 2, consisting of:
Knowledge and Competence qualification in Trade Supplier at Level 2
End point assessment - Final test and observation
The vocational and academic training aspects are separated and delivered by separate teams. The vocational training and assessment is conducted, more often than not, on-site according to the employer's wishes.
Notice of dates is agreed well in advance of a site visit. Training and assessment are conducted both on and off-the-job, according to the needs of the course and the learner. Training will be provided on how to use our stock management system to monitor stock levels
You will use forklifts to store incoming deliveries
Your tasks will also include outbound order picking, selecting products from stock, and ensuring all products are included in orders
Finally, you will create shipping labels and send order confirmations to customers

Your training course: Level 2 Supply Chain Warehouse Operative qualification
Your Training Plan: You will enrol in a level 2 Supply chain warehouse operative qualification with our training provider Hawk Management Limited
This will be done remotely whilst working in your role
Training Outcome:
Upon completion of this apprenticeship there are many internal opportunities within the company
Many of our previous apprentices have become leaders and managers who take control of their own teams

Receiving incoming deliveries- checking paperwork, inspecting goods for damage, and ensuring items match purchase orders
Carrying out quality and quantity checks before items are accepted into stock
Booking materials into the system using warehouse software and maintaining accurate records
Safely handling, moving, and storing parts and components using the correct tools, equipment, and methods
Organising stock locations to keep the warehouse tidy, efficient, and compliant with safety standards
Supporting stock control activities such as cycle counts, stocktakes, and investigations into missing or incorrect items
Preparing materials for internal departments to ensure production and service teams receive what they need on time
Working closely with warehouse, logistics, and engineering teams to understand how materials flow through the business
Following health & safety procedures and learning best practices in manual handling, equipment use, and safe storage
Contributing to continuous improvement, suggesting better ways to organise stock, reduce waste, or speed up workflow
Training:
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation
At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying
