Summary of the role:
As an Apprentice CNC Machinist, you will work under the guidance and supervision of experienced machinists and learn the skills required to operate computer numerical control (CNC) machines. Your primary responsibility will be to set up, operate, and maintain CNC equipment to manufacture precision parts and components.
Apprentices are expected to; not get things right the first time, have a willingness to learn and ask questions when they are unsure. All Dyer Engineering people should always take a consultative and constructive approach to their interactions and be a positive role model by conducting themselves in a manner consistent with the Company’s Values and SST Behaviours. We hope that apprentices can recognise this behaviour and can copy it. It starts with being kind and helping the person next to you.
Duties, including but not limited to:
Machine Setup and Operation
Assist in setting up CNC machines, including loading raw materials, tool selection, and fixture installation
Learn to interpret technical drawings, and specifications to understand machining requirements
Operate CNC machines to perform cutting, drilling, turning, and milling operations as per specifications
Monitor machine operations, make adjustments as necessary, and ensure quality standards are met
Tooling and Maintenance:
Assist in selecting appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and other equipment required for machining operations
Learn to change and align tools, perform tool offsets, and maintain cutting tools for optimal performance
Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning machines, checking lubrication levels, and replacing worn-out components
Quality Control and Inspection:
Participate in quality control activities to ensure the accuracy and precision of machined parts
Learn to use precision measuring instruments, such as vernier callipers, micrometres, and gauges, to inspect finished products.
Identify and report any deviations from specifications or quality issues to senior machinists or supervisors
Documentation and Reporting
Maintain accurate records of production data, including machine settings, measurements, and job details
Assist in generating reports on production output, machine efficiency, and quality metrics
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to communicate progress, challenges, and suggestions for process improvement

About The RoleThe Support Worker will provide a structured, personalised resettlement service to every service user at Mildmay House. Duties and Responsibilities
Support for Pupils, Teachers and the Curriculum
Work in partnership with teachers/managers and other professional agencies to provide effective supportwith learning and play activities
Awareness of and work within school policies and procedures
Support pupils to understand instructions, support independent learning and play and to promote the inclusion of all pupils
Implement and contribute to learning and teaching programmes as agreed with the teacher/manager, adjusting activities according to pupils’ responses as appropriate
Participate in planning and evaluation of learning activities with the teacher/manager, providing feedback to the teacher/manager on pupil progress
Support the teacher/manager in behaviour management and keeping pupils on task based on the expectations for individual pupils
Assist with the supervision of pupils out of lesson times, including before and after school and at lunchtimes but not as a supervisory assistant
Under the guidance of a teacher/manager monitor, assess and record pupil progress/activities
Support learning by arranging/providing resources for lessons/activities under the direction of the teacher/manager and in line with health and safety requirements
