We are searching for a Year 1 apprentice to join us at our Runcorn Depot.
This is an excellent career opportunity for the right candidate to carry complete their full Bus and Coach Automotive Apprenticeship, with the core job role expected to include much of the following tasks:-
* Service and repair body and panels of bus / heavy motor vehicles
* Identifying faults and their rectification
* Carrying out standard mechanical and electrical servicing, repairs and maintenance
* Fitting and servicing parts
* Removing damaged parts as replace with new
* Using tools and equipment
* Testing and quality inspections
* Making sure vehicle and repairs comply with industry standards
* Keeping records of all work completed

Bus and Coach Engineering Technician Training will be delivered on a block release model at our Wythenshawe Campus (M22 9UH), with apprentices attending college for approximately 10 weeks per year
During this time, apprentices will develop the underpinning knowledge and practical skills required for the role, supported by experienced tutors and industry-standard facilities. In the workplace, apprentices will be supported through on-site assessments and observations to ensure competence is applied in a real working environment
All apprentices are required to log their off-the-job training hours, evidencing development across both on-programme learning and workplace activities in line with apprenticeship funding requirements
Training Outcome:
On successful completion, apprentices will achieve the Bus and Coach Engineering Technician apprenticeship standard, developing the skills and knowledge required to maintain, diagnose and repair bus and coach vehicles safely and efficiently
They will be competent in applying industry standards, health and safety practices, and modern diagnostic techniques, enabling them to work independently and contribute effectively within a professional engineering environment
Learners will also complete their End-Point Assessment (EPA), demonstrating occupational competence, with progression opportunities into skilled technician roles and further development within the sector
