Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Supporting teachers and students during practical work, to include setting up demonstrations and equipment, providing guidance to pupils in the development of their tasks, including the safe operation and demonstration of equipment
To assist with overseeing the work of small groups of students engaged in practical tasks, as requested by the PE coordinator/lead and under the supervision of the classroom teacher
Day-to-day support of lessons, including preparing equipment, materials and teaching aids
To support with efficient organisation of the work and storage areas and to ensure the cleanliness, safety and security of these areas at all times
To assist with the delivery of extra-curricular/lunchtime activities
Supporting classroom activities in the morning
Where appropriate for the above activities, support staff with:
Preparation of equipment, materials and rooms: setting out of equipment, organising team kits and transport for fixtures and curriculum activities
Working as a team member within your school and gaining invaluable experience
Training:
Teaching Assistant Level 3 - Apprenticeship Standard (A level)
Depending on the area, you will be assigned a tutor and training will be blended, involving both virtual and face-to-face
Training will be weekly, off the off-the-job training hours will be logged
You will be working with an E-portfolio (BUD System) and alongside your tutor, you will be assigned a mentor from within your workplace
Following a successful Gateway meeting, you will move forward with an End Point Assessment. Upon successful completion of the EPA you will achieve a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship

You’ll be joining our Capital Projects construction team, who are responsible for a variety of work across nearly all aspects of National Gas’ infrastructure. Our Capital Projects team covers a wide range of work, from security upgrades, asset replacement and pipeline diversions, to working with industry for hydrogen and biomethane connections such as Project Union, where we’re repurposing existing gas transmission pipelines and building new pipelines to create a hydrogen ‘backbone’ for the UK.
Across your career here, you’ll start to specialise in particular areas (for example, Above Ground Instillations or Pipelines and Diversions). You’ll shadow, take on small projects initially, working towards taking on more responsibility as you grow. Your apprenticeship is just the start of your learning journey - to become a fully-fledged Site Supervisor you’ll continue to be supported on your journey to being a Site Supervisor.
This is a really varied role, and means you’ll get the opportunity to frequently travel across the UK. This means it’s essential that you’re able to drive, you’re comfortable with overnight stays and travelling multiple times a week to various sites. Travel will become an exciting part of your day-to-day life on the job.
You’ll learn how to:
Supervise specialist contractors
Control health and safety standards on construction projects
Record, control and report on progress of a construction project
The minimisation of the environmental impact of construction projects

We’ll work closely with your apprenticeship provider to review your progress at regular intervals, providing feedback and guiding your development. Our sites are located across the UK, so you’ll need to be comfortable with travel, so being able to drive is essential. Asset Management – Ensure that the ITAM database is kept up to date, ensuring that the asset lifecycle and disposal is followed
Diagnose and resolve hardware and software-related issues in a timely manner, escalating more complex issues to higher-level support teams as needed
Assist with user account management tasks such as password resets, access provisioning, and account setup/deactivation
Educate users on basic IT concepts and best practices to enhance their productivity and security awareness
Proactively monitor, assess, and report on all tickets against defined Incident and Request Management KPIs, ensuring that appropriate action is taken to progress tickets where required
Proactive identification of recurring faults, and ensuring a complete resolution is put in place to prevent further incidents, following the problem management process
