The Sports Coach apprenticeship with Premier Education is an exciting opportunity to earn while you learn, gaining hands-on experience in sports coaching, physical activity and working with children.
Apprentices will support the delivery of PE lessons, before and after school clubs, lunchtime activities, holiday camps and sports sessions. This role is ideal for someone who is energetic, enthusiastic and passionate about helping children develop confidence, teamwork and a love of physical activity.
The apprentice will work alongside experienced coaches and managers, learning how to plan, deliver and review safe, engaging and inclusive sports activities for children aged 3 to 11.
Responsibilities of a Sports Coach Apprentice:
Support the planning and delivery of fun, safe and engaging PE and sports sessions
Assist with before school, lunchtime and after school clubsSupport holiday camp activities and childcare provision where required
Set up, organise and pack away sports equipment safely
Encourage children to participate, build confidence and stay physically active
Support children’s behaviour, wellbeing and engagement during sessions
Help create an inclusive environment for children of all ages and abilities
Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and company procedures at all times
Work professionally with schools, parents, colleagues and children
Assist senior coaches with delivering high-quality activities across a variety of sports
Attend training, team meetings and development opportunities
Develop coaching, communication, leadership and childcare skills throughout the apprenticeship
Training:
The apprentice will complete training in the workplace, supported by regular sessions with The Educationwise Academy Ltd
Training will take place alongside practical experience in before and after school clubs, holiday camps and childcare settings
The apprentice will receive workplace mentoring, tutor support and regular progress reviews throughout the apprenticeship
Training Outcome:
After successful completion of the apprenticeship, there may be opportunities to progress into roles such as Sports Coach, Activity Leader, Holiday Camp Coach, Wraparound Care Assistant, PE Support Assistant or Childcare Practitioner
The apprentice may also progress into further training in sport, childcare, education or activity leadership

Key Responsibilities:
From timetables and/or teachers’ instructions, identify and ensure availability of all materials, equipment and apparatus that are required for P.E lessons
Assist teaching staff in lessons by overseeing and/or assisting students to enable students to maximise their use of available lesson time and to obtain assistance with any problems being encountered (eg. use of materials and equipment)
Ensure equipment used in the department is kept in a state of good repair, to ensure that it is always safe and available to use
Clean kit and equipment used by students to ensure that it is available when required
Undertake repairs and maintenance of equipment to maximise its usage an minimise the need for replacement thereby providing cost effective support
Maintain all areas of the PE department in a tidy condition (including cupboards) to ensure they are safe environments to work in, that accurate records of stock levels can be maintained and that equipment requiring repair can be identified easily
Provide advice, as necessary, on Health & Safety issues to staff and students. Alerting staff as necessary to any ‘unsafe’ practices by students, to reduce the possibility of accidents
To support and deliver extra-curricular activities
To prepare and support the use of learning materials, monitor and maintain curriculum resources, and create visual displays in order to ensure a relevant physical learning environment
To assist with the maintenance of student record keeping systems, including recording agreed updates to individual records
To assist with the maintenance of match reports, including recording and publicising fixtures and results
Support the organisation of whole school events
Support the organisation of fixtures
To escort and supervise students on educational visits and out of school activities, ensuring their health, safety and well-being
Assist with administration tasks such as filing, photocopying, collating, as required
Undertake training as may be required to fulfil the duties of the post

Your day to day work will include:
Managing existing HR records and maintaining accurate and up to date employee data on the HRIS (Personio).
Producing reports as required
Administering the documentation in support of new joiners including producing new joiner paperwork and carrying out reference checking
Administering the documentation in support of the annual HR processes (Appraisal, Training Applications, Salary Review, Bonus)
Supporting the Internal Recruiter with recruitment activities; job adverts, candidate management through the ATS, email notifications to candidates, booking interviews and monitoring the careers inbox
Carry out monthly checks such as work anniversaries, probations and benefit enrolments
Assist with various HR led internal events such as in-house training sessions, well-being week, and any other internal events that may require support
Provide administrative support to HR activities e.g. recruitment campaigns, careers fairs, induction, training, benefits, absence management
Provide administrative support to our L&D programme; system administration, managing delegate lists, sending out invites, booking and setting up meeting rooms, updating our HR SharePoint portal, putting learner packs together, assisting in the creation of learning material (i.e. PowerPoint, ‘how to guides’, handouts etc.)
Logging Sickness, and ensuring sickness records are closed by employees and escalating any sickness cases to the relevant members of the HR Team
Monitor the HR inbox responding or escalating as appropriate
