The following are the core responsibilities of the Learning Support Assistant (LSA).
There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
Assist with the planning of learning activities by identifying and preparing resources required to support lesson plans and learning outcomes
Preparing materials/equipment (e.g. books, pencils, art supplies, sort games) preparing and clearing up activities with the pupils;
Maintaining classroom resources and designated areas
Assisting with reading, word and number games, science and art and craft activities to support learning outcomes using the teacher-planned teaching and learning method
Providing unobtrusive guidance and support to enable pupils to find answers to questions and tasks set, using knowledge of each pupil’s differing levels of development and ability to ensure progression and continuity
Supervise individual or small groups of pupils undertaking teacher-led learning activities by co-ordinating and explaining basic instructions for the activity, adjusting activities within the scope of the lesson plan and learning outcomes in response to pupils’ learning
Assisting pupil achievement by monitoring learning against learning outcomes, informing the teacher of progress/problems
Assist pupils to develop their independence through undertaking tasks
Support the use of IT as a tool to enable learning
Support the development of literacy and numeracy skills of pupils from a wide variety of backgrounds
Administer and mark routine tests with clearly defined predetermined answers
Assist with special activities in the school within school hours (e.g. sports days, plays, concerts, open days) accompany on school visits, projects
Ensure that pupils work and play together positively and cooperatively by modelling and encouraging positive behaviour
Helping pupils change for practical activities
Arrange classroom to create a positive learning environment including arranging classroom displays

Be responsible for keeping and updating systems as agreed with the teacher, contributing to reviews of systems as requested.
Perform allocated tasks with limited supervision.
Provide general clerical/administration support (e.g. administer resources for agreed activities).
Training:This apprenticeship will be delivered by Bradford College. Your Assessor will visit you in the workplace to complete workplace observations. You will also upload assignments and work onto an online e-portfolio. Your Assessor will work with you on a one to one basis, and you will also be invited to attend study days at Bradford College. Study days are once per month. You will be gived 6 hours per week to work on your apprenticeship and learn new skills. Teach Plus are currently working with a one-form entry, welcoming and supportive primary school, who are seeking a Level 3 Nursery Teaching Assistant to join them ASAP on a part-time, ongoing basis.

The role of the Level 3 Nursery Teaching Assistant is to start ASAP, on a part-time basis, 5 mornings per week, 8.30am – 12.30pm.
As a Level 3 Nursery Teaching Assistant you will be expected to:
Support the lead teacher in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment
Establish positive relationships with the pupils, parents, class teachers and other members of staff across the school
Monitor and document the progress of each child and communicate observations to the lead teacher
Be responsible for setting up continuous provision indoors and outdoors
The ideal candidate for a Level 3 Nursery Teaching Assistant role will have:
Experience working in an EYFS setting, ideally within a primary school
Level 3 Childcare Qualification
A flexible, proactive attitude who are passionate about improving the environment and learning for all pupils
Enhanced DBS Certificate with the Update Service
Right to work in the UK
