This is a full time, permanent role based in Ipswich offering hybrid working and a salary between £44,428 - £46,464 per year.
The purpose of the role is to provide a comprehensive, high quality, customer focused Service to the Council for the effective maintenance and improvement of the housing stock and local environment, with specific emphasis on responsibility for managing compliance and building safety matters to all Council properties and customers, the postholder will ensure all aspects of the Building Safety Act and other Health and Safety legislation is met within legal, financial, time and policy constraints.

WTI Commercial Façade Foreman
The WTI Commercial Façade Foreman is responsible for the oversite and performance of safety, efficiency, and quality of the WTI Commercial Building Envelope business. Safety is our number one priority and will be embedded into every discussion, meeting, and project. As the clear and established leader of the WTI crew, the WTI Foreman is focused on safety, crew management and efficient execution of all WTI Projects assigned to them. Travel will be required. It is the responsibility of the WTI Commercial Foreman to deliver timely and the highest quality service to all our WTI customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Actively administers and enforces Company safety policy and program to minimize accidents affecting employees, the public, and property. This includes responsibility for conducting safety meetings, complying with governmental regulations, reporting and investigating accidents, and planning site-specific job safety procedures including: Conduct the daily onsite safety brief prior to the start of the WTI project with all onsite project personnel (Sales Rep, Customer, WTI Supt & Crew, Etc) Inspect and ensure safety of surroundings, equipment and tools and identify and discuss any safety concerns. Complete the Daily Hazard Analysis form and submit to the Supervisors as applicable. Ensure all project communication is completed prior to the start of any WTI project. This includes but is not limited to communication with: Sales Rep on weekly/daily schedule WTI crew members to discuss scope of work and daily tasks The customer prior to arrival, upon arrival, and upon completion of daily work WTI Supervisor on safety, schedule changes, project and crew updates, etc.
Efficient project management to include managing crew start and end times, production rates, ensuring tools and materials are available to safely and efficiently completing the assigned project. Complete the project per the scope or work, design, and specification of contract and engineering documents. Complete an end of day and/or end of project walk through to ensure quality repairs and address any items prior to leaving the job site. Before and after pictures will be sent to the Sales Rep and information will be included in daily project status reports. These items will include, detailed work performed updates, materials consumed, and supplies purchases are all recording daily. Supervises, directs, and coordinates the scheduling and execution of projects in assigned areas. This responsibility includes job start-up, job execution in accordance with contract specifications, job shutdown, and manpower scheduling, all consistent with the planned costs of the job. Manages field personnel, including, but not limited to, recruiting, hiring, training, motivating, and retaining the quality and number of production personnel needed to meet operating demands. This responsibility also includes laying off personnel, disciplinary action, employee assistance, and handling union matters relative to employees. Ensure that all WTI Field Labor will have a professional appearance and customer interaction while completing services for a customer. Responsible for the tracking and monitoring project inventory. Maintains highest quality on-site customer relations in projecting positive image. Has knowledge/understanding and assures assigned projects comply with all governmental rules and regulations affecting work sites and employees, i.e., OSHA, DOT, EEO/Affirmative Action, EPA, Wage and Hour, etc. Manage, monitor, and document performance of WTI Commercial Field Labor and take appropriate steps or corrective measures to resolve employee and work-related issues. EXPERIENCE:
5+ years progressive experience in a similar role to include leading teams and technical solutions, training, troubleshooting, etc. Must be thoroughly familiar with standard façade construction including masonry, EIFS, Stucco, Curtainwall, metal panels, concrete, plaster, and other forms of facade systems and how to properly repair them using Tremco CPG Materials. My client is a very know brand in the power generation industry and after recently winning a large package of works are looking for a number of people to complete their works on site in North Wales, one of those positions os they are looking for a HSE advisor to be based on site and to oversee all of the works to ensure comp;liance and to promote good practice across the project
THE ROLE OF HSE ADVISOR
- Management of the implementation of the Health & Safety and environmental management system on the project
- Advising all onsite project staff of any HSE best practice as and when needed
- Complete toolbox meetings with all on site staff
- Coordination of HS&E updates towards project and site leadership teams as well as liaising with other locations
- Working closely with the site manager to ensure the H&S and Environmental plan and regulations are adhered to
- Be a champion for health and safety and working in a safe and compliant manner
- Preparing and issuing H&S NCRs on site if needed to internal staff as well as subcontractors
THE RIGHT HSE ADVISOR
- A proven track record in a similar role overseeing infrastructure projects
- A qualified HSE Advisor with NEBOSH/ IOSH qualifications
- Additional certifications to work on construction sites, ECS cards, CSCS etc etc
- An experts understanding of current Health and Safety Legislation and the application of the regulations in a construction environment
- A good understanding of ISO 14001, 9001 and 18001
