Develop detailed mechanical designs for pressure vessels, including calculations, CAD drawings, and specifications
Perform stress analysis, thermal analysis, and fatigue analysis on pressure vessels to ensure safety and performance

Collaboration and Support:
Work closely with the manufacturing and fabrication teams to ensure seamless transition from design to production
Provide technical support to the production team during the manufacturing process, addressing any design-related issues or challenges

This role would suit a Junior Garment Technologist looking for the next step and ready to take on more ownership across fit, quality, sampling, and supplier communication.Working closely with the design, buying, merchandising, and supplier teams, you will help ensure our garments are well-fitted, commercially viable, and produced to the required quality standards. Previous experience working within a brand retail environment is key, as we are looking for someone who understands the pace, standards, and commercial requirements of a retail fashion business.Key Responsibilities
Manage fit comments and sample approvals from development through to production.Attend and support fit sessions, providing clear technical feedback to suppliers.Review garment construction, measurements, grading, trims, fabrics, and workmanship.Maintain accurate tech packs, size specs, and product records.Liaise with suppliers and factories to resolve fit, quality, and production issues.Support the approval of lab dips, trims, care labels, test reports, and sealing samples.Monitor product quality and help identify improvements to reduce issues and returns.Work to critical path deadlines and communicate updates clearly across the team.
Skills & Experience
Experience in a Junior Garment Technologist, Assistant Garment Technologist, or similar technical role.Brand retail experience is essential, ideally within womenswear, curve, plus-size, or a fast-paced fashion environment.Good understanding of garment construction, fit, measurements, and manufacturing processes.Confident reviewing samples and communicating technical comments.Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills.Ability to manage multiple styles and deadlines.Good communication skills and confidence working with suppliers.Knowledge of tech packs, size specs, testing, and critical path processes.Womenswear, curve, or plus-size experience would be beneficial but not essential.
Qualifications
Degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in Fashion Technology, Garment Technology, Pattern Cutting, Fashion Design, or a related field.Equivalent industry experience will also be considered.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the maintenance department
Overseeing and assisting with of the installation, maintenance, and repair work of machines, parts and facilities for the Kirker Paterson buildings
Preparing maintenance schedules and allocating work as per forecasted work orders
Maintaining all inventory of parts and equipment and ensuring proper storage
Inventories and requisitions machine parts, equipment, and other supplies to replenish and maintain stock
Recording and maintaining production, repair, and machine maintenance information
Assisting with departmental budget estimates and costs of specific repair projects
Set up and operate machines and adjust controls that regulate operational functions to ensure conformance to specifications.
Lubricate machinery, repair or change parts, and perform other routine machinery maintenance (i.e. mixers, pumps, valves, homogenizes, filter housings, forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.).
Starts machine and observes mechanical operation to determine efficiency and to detect defects, malfunctions, or other machine damage.
Installs, replaces, or changes machine parts and attachments, according to production specifications.
Dismantles machine, removes machine parts, and reassembles machine, using hand tools, chain falls, jack, crane, or hoist.
Removes hardened material from machine or machine parts, using abrasives, power and hand tools, jackhammer, sledgehammer, or other equipment.
Transports machine parts, tools, equipment and other material between work areas and storage, using crane, hoist, or dolly.
Weld and/or repair tanks, vessels, tank stands, and tank frames.
Marks, separates, ties, aligns, threads, attaches, or insert material or product preparatory to machine operation or to identify machine process.
Communicate with or assists other workers to repair or move machines, machine parts or equipment.
Reads work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment requiring repair or maintenance.
Cuts, shapes, smooths, attaches or assembles pieces of metal, wood, rubber, or other material repair and maintenance machines and equipment.
Inspects or tests damaged machine parts and determines appropriate actions to affect repairs.
Performs Facility related repairs and work when needed.
Training of the maintenance crew

Minimum Job Requirements:
Experience: 5-7 years in a manufacturing environment
Ability to read, write and communicate in English
Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 lbs
Ability to use various hand, bench, and power tools
Ability to perform general metal working carpentry, plumbing and electrical related repair
Welding is a plus
Forklift Certified and forklift repair experience is a plus
Boiler license required

A Pre-press Technician is skilled in the processes that occur before the printing and finishing stages.
Pre-press is the first stage of production. It covers the processes and procedures that take place between the creation of a print-ready design and the actual printing process.
As part of your training, you will develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required for the apprenticeship standard, while also learning the specific systems, equipment and workflows used here at Baker Labels.
You’ll gain experience in checking and preparing digital artwork, understanding colour reproduction, producing proofs, supporting workflow management and ensuring files are ready for efficient, accurate print production.
A skilled Pre-press Technician would be able to demonstrate the following Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours:

Working with another member of staff, install, set up, and maintain professional print devices, including both hardware and software
Provide customer training on devices to help users get the most out of their equipment
Diagnose and resolve technical faults, working with other members of the team

Take apart and clean imaging drums
Replace worn parts with new and repackage ready for engineer use
Perform toner refills where necessary (all safety equipment provided and instructions)

Fully clean all areas of machine using equipment and materials provided
