Your responsibilities will include:
Design Support:
Assist in developing detailed electrical designs based on project specifications
Help create technical drawings and schematics using software like AutoCAD or Harnware
Collaborate with senior engineers to ensure designs meet client requirements and industry standards
Estimation Support:
Assist in preparing accurate cost estimates for electrical projects, including materials, labour, and equipment
Analyse project specifications and technical drawings to determine project scope and requirements
Help conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for proposed designs
Project Collaboration:
Work closely with project managers, design engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and ensure project alignment
Participate in project meetings and contribute to discussions on design and cost estimation
Learning and Development:
Engage in continuous learning to understand electrical engineering principles, design techniques, and estimation methods
Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance technical and professional skills
Training:Engineering technician Level 3 (A level) Apprenticeship Standard:
All apprentices will be required to achieve a minimum Level 2 Foundation competence qualification (Practical units, broad-based skills)
Level 3 Development Competence qualification (Practical work-based units)
Level 3 Development technical knowledge qualification (Theory-based units broad-based knowledge)
Apprentices without Level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this prior to taking EPA
End Point Assessment:
Portfolio-Based Occupational Competence Interview (Viva)
A nominated professional Institution (PEI) undertakes the independent assessment to determine if the apprentice has met the EngTech requirements as defined by the UK-SPEC
