The role as the Senior Manufacturing Engineer in East Sussex will be leading the NPI Development team and will be responsible for liaising with the relevant design staff to ensure the overall quality and delivery of new parts, to the highest standards. Im recruiting for a Planning Engineer on behalf of a well-established aerospace manufacturing business. This role sits at the heart of engineering and operations, supporting the timely planning of both new and existing parts while optimising plant capability and manufacturing processes to improve productivity and compliance.
The Planning Engineer will be responsible for the planning and optimisation of parts across NPI and re-engineering activity. Duties include compiling technical manufacturing instructions and route cards, allocating set and run times, estimating machining times using material and cutting data, and advising the purchasing function on tooling and gauging requirements.
The role also involves proving new working methods, implementing process improvements, and acting as an arbiter on product compliance.
Youll liaise directly with customers on engineering queries, support contract reviews, and create process sketches using Catia.
The position supports APQP and PPAP activities, export compliance requirements, and works closely with the quality function on NCRs and continuous improvement initiatives.
