Our 3 Year Apprenticeship Programme will see you develop both technically and personally, with the majority of your first year spent at SETA training centre in Southampton completing some of the following training:
Foundational knowledge units including General Safety and Statutory Requirements
Specialist Electrical & Instrumentation training including:
Electrical Wiring & Maintenance
Programmable Logic Control
Instrumentation & Controls
1 Day a week will be dedicated to the delivery of a BTEC Level 3 in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering
Once you’re equipped with your foundation knowledge, you’ll join us on-site for Year 2 and 3 where you’ll work alongside our teams and start gaining valuable hands-on experience and training to further your understanding and start applying what you’ve learnt. You’ll be assigned a mentor, who will oversee your development and training, offering valuable insights into career paths at Perenco.Some of your activities on-site might look like the below:
Maintenance to be completed using the company standards and procedures.
Complete scheduled and breakdown maintenance activities on the following:
Safety Systems, Fire & Gas Systems, Flow Measurement Systems
Pressure, Temperature and Level Control
Gas Detection
DCS Systems
Hydraulic and Pneumatic Control Systems
Develop and review operational and maintenance procedures
Completion of Maximo work orders and ensure generation of new work requests to highlight plant and equipment failure
Raise relevant permits within the agreed time period to ensure that maintenance is completed in an efficient manner
Provide assistance for projects, working with vendors and sub contractors as required
Comply with the requirements of Change Management policies eg, Plant Modifications Proposals
Training:
Our Apprentices will undertake a Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician, Level 3 (A level)
This will include a full-time period of practical workshop based ‘off-the-job’ training at SETA in Southampton
You will also begin a technical certificate (depending on your prior attainments) where you will be required to attend SETA one day a week over two academic years. After your initial training at SETA, you will be working towards your End Point Assessment.Training Outcome:

We are seeking technicians who will be responsible for the technical uptime of our electric Remotely Operated Vehicles (eROVs) and USV’s within the European and African region.
You will support project mobilisations, equipment installation, equipment calibrations, equipment maintenance and technical fault finding. Therefore, you will get the opportunity to work hands on with the remote equipment underpinning the transition from conventional survey to remote and uncrewed survey.
Travel to project sites will be required for maintaining eROV systems, launch and recovery equipment, vessel mounted survey sensors and servicing of the vessel itself ensuring that components are operational to conduct investigation and inspections in accordance with the project deliverables.

Complete work orders clearly to a high standard, including as much relevant information as possible. Raise any necessary follow ups in Maximo, including as much relevant information as possible
Complete any required P forms for adding or removing maintenance to equipment
Raise any necessary Work Control Certificates (WCC’s) for non-routine tasks, including level 2 WCC’s
Raise any necessary Isolation Control Certificates (ICC’s) for both electrical tasks and tasks for other trades that require an isolation
Produce switching procedures for any High Voltage (HV) switching
Carry out switching including isolations and de-isolations of low and high voltage electrical equipment
Take part in planning and executing any work associated with the annual slowdowns / shutdown
Training:
Our Apprentices will undertake a Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician, Level 3 (A level)
This will include a full-time period of practical workshop based ‘off-the-job’ training at HETA in Hull
You will also begin a technical certificate (depending on your prior attainments) where you will be required to attend HETA one day a week over two academic years
After your initial training at HETA, you will be working towards your End Point Assessment.
