To Install, maintain, and sometimes operate our range of Mobile Processing Equipment.

Undertake servicing and repairs of equipment at Sludge TEK workshop in Andover.
Ideally able to undertake and document the statutory Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICR) for our fleet of mobile processing units.
To undertake and document the statutory Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) of our workshop and office equipment.
Assist sales department with customer survey visits.
Supervise and train subcontract labour.
Compile Risk Assessments and Method Statements prior to undertaking site work.
Some travel, mostly UK but occasional overseas work.

The scheme is typically 30 months in duration and consists of 15 months residential training at the Maintenance Academy situated at Humberside Airport, followed by 15 months vocational training undertaken at a BAE Systems or RAF site in the UK.
Due to the residential element of the apprenticeship, successful candidates must be at least 18 years of age when they commence the apprenticeship. The Pipe Fabrication / Fitter role encompasses the positioning, assembly, fabrication, maintenance, repair of piping systems. This can include working in environments with systems that may carry water, steam, food, pharmaceutical, chemicals, gas, hydrocarbons or fuel which may be used in cooling, heating, lubricating and other processes.
You will work with various pipe materials such as ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics and composites. These materials can vary from 6mm to 1000 in diameter and from 5 mm up to 75 mm in thickness dependent upon the content of the pipes and the operating pressures of the systems. The role requires the knowledge and skills to implement the specified method of jointing required within often complex piping systems. The Pipefitter must be able to work autonomously and as part of a team ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental, processes and procedures.
You will be expected to take responsibility for the quality and accuracy of your work and be proactive in finding solutions to problems and identifying improvements to processes.

Year 1:
You will undertake your training at the Aircraft Maintenance Academy in Humberside.
You will complete your Level 2 apprenticeship standard.
You will be trained in both practical and theory-based engineering.
You will learn the basics to give you a grounding for completing your placements in engineering.
One day a week at college.
Years 2, 3 and 4:
Most placements will be office/home based using computer based tools with interaction with our customers, suppliers and aircraft.
You will continue with academic studies and learning, this includes completing a HNC in aeronautical engineering which will require 1 day a week at college.
You will complete six placements across various programmes within the Air business.

This will involve installing, maintaining and fault-finding on highway electrical equipment. You will also begin your workplace-based competence qualification.
Year 3: In year three you will continue to develop your technical, occupational, and professional competence and build your business network.
Year 4: In year 4 you will complete the end point assessment requirements and transition into a permanent role within the business.

Apprenticeship Overview:• Engage in comprehensive training programs combining hands-on experience with academic learning.• Work alongside experienced professionals to gain practical skills in mechanical engineering.• Participate in projects focusing on innovation and sustainability in construction materials and practices.• Support the engineering team in designing, testing, and improving industrial processes and equipment.• Learn about and contribute to our sustainability initiatives, focusing on reducing carbon emissions and enhancing efficiency.
Typical Placement can include:• Learning the principles of engineering both academic and practical• Repairing and maintaining mechanical equipment• Following all relevant Company, Health and Safety & Quality procedures and processes• Working with a team of mechanical fitters, who will teach you how to operate and maintain the full range of equipment• Preventative maintenance tasks as per schedule• Assisting work managers with electrical problems at their sites• Reporting any unsafe plant or operations to your line managerTraining:This apprenticeship includes spending 30 weeks in Birmingham in Year 1, on a residential basis, where the travel to Birmingham, accommodation on a half board basis (including breakfast and evening meal) and travel to and from the training facility is paid for by Aggregate.
In years 2 and 3, you will attend Make UK on block release, 1 week in every 5, again staying in the hotel and paid for my Aggregate. Training Outcome:Your future is yours to dream and develop. Aggregate offers opportunities to progress into being an mechanical maintenance engineer, then potentially onto being a team leader, manager and even beyond.
