As a Mechatronics Maintenance Apprentice, you will develop the practical skills and technical knowledge needed to become a multi-skilled maintenance engineer. Working alongside experienced engineers, you will gain hands-on experience maintaining, repairing and improving the plant and equipment that keeps their manufacturing operations running safely, efficiently and reliably. Over the course of this four-year apprenticeship, you will combine structured off-the-job training with practical, on-site learning, building expertise in both mechanical and electrical engineering disciplines.
You will be part of the Maintenance Team, working under the guidance and support of a dedicated mentor who will help you develop your skills and confidence throughout the programme. As your experience grows, you will take on increasing responsibility while learning to work safely and professionally in a busy manufacturing environment.
Your day-to-day activities will include supporting planned preventative maintenance to maximise equipment reliability and minimise downtime, assisting with fault finding, diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical systems on a wide range of manufacturing plant, and helping to maintain pneumatic and hydraulic equipment, motors, drives, sensors and basic control systems.
