After a period of business growth, Link ICT are again on the lookout for an IT apprentice to join their team in Derby.
Reporting into the Technical Services Manager, your duties will include, but are not necessarily limited to the following:
Provide onsite and remote IT technical support to clients
Respond to support tickets in a timely manner, resolving tickets where possible and escalating where necessary
Ordering new ICT hardware and logging devices onto asset register
Installation and configuring of operating systems
Software installation, such as Office365, firewalls and anti-virus
Some lower level network administration may be required, such as setting policies and group permissions
Performing server backups where required
Administration of cloud services such as Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace
Assisting with structured cabling and network infrastructure installation
Supporting with any technical queries regarding unified comms
Technical fault diagnosis with audio visual equipment
Training:
Alongside this role, you will study towards your Level 3 Information Communications Technician Apprenticeship qualification, on either the Network Technician or the Support Technician pathway.
You will receive blended training, which includes weekly live, online training sessions and access to on-demand resources via the Pluralsight online learning platform.
In addition to this, you will also have a review with your Skills Coach every 6-8 weeks, to ensure you are happy and on-track with your Apprenticeship.
Training Outcome:
Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, there the possibility of a full-time role available for a hard-working apprentice, and potential to specialise in areas such as cyber security, networking or provisioning.

Being taught in our onsite Manufacturing Skills Development Centre, you will develop the skills to carry out production processes safely, efficiently and to outstanding quality.
You will spend 1 day a week in the classroom learning theory and 4 days a week doing practical production work in a shop.
You will undertake both classroom and on the job hand skills training, carrying out 3 different production placements in our various shops.
To develop your teamwork, communication, and leadership skills, you will also spend time away from site on an outdoor activity residential.
You will be taught about the Toyota Production System and our core philosophies of Continuous Improvement and Respect for People.
Training:
Production apprentices will complete their training in our onsite Manufacturing Skills Development Centre.
Further offsite training (transport provided) will develop teamwork, communication, and planning through an outdoor activities’ residential and community volunteer project.
Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will gain a Level 2 Lean Manufacturing Operative (LMO) Diploma and be offered a permanent production team member position at Toyota.
Apprentices without a Grade 4 or above in Maths and English GCSE will also be required to attempt a Level 2 functional skills in Maths and English alongside the LMO qualification.Training Outcome:

Training in our onsite Technical Skills Development Centre, you will learn skills such as welding, electrical installation, technical drawing and PLC programming, through a mix of classroom based and hands on work.
For the first 22 months (Stage 1), you will train in our onsite Technical Skills Development Centre, gaining practical experience in a variety of skill areas and learning the technical theory behind them 50% of the time.
