As a Maintenance Technician at DAP's Pacific Plant, you will be a member of the plant Maintenance team responsible for monitoring aerosol filling operations to ensure standards for quality and productivity are met.
Responsibilities:
• Start-up, monitor, perform major adjustments and shut down fill line equipment. Open and close building, making sure building is secure. Work without supervisor or lead tech. Start up equipment, air compressor, pumps, line, labeler. Run production line after set up and make any major or minor repairs necessary. Unloading material from trucks, mix a batch of material if needed- Building maintenance.
• Assist aerosol machine associates and temporary personnel involved in the operation of aerosol equipment. Assist in training of new technicians, installing new equipment, work with aerosol machine associates and answer any questions concerning adjustments on equipment.
• Perform and record results of inspections of label applications, capping and pressure seals, can weights.
• Stage consumable supplies such as labels, glue, straws, cans and caps to ensure continuous flow of filling operations.
• Perform line conversions to prepare new products for filling operations.
• Ensure proper use of raw materials, finished goods, scrap and rejects. Complete and submit requisitions to request or return materials to stock. Check in all materials according to the work order.
• Dispose of scrap cans, spills or ruptured cans, spraying out contents of scrap cans and cleaning leaked product from machinery, floors, walls, etc.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of machines and work area.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair and rebuild equipment (PM). Diagnose problems, work with engineers, supervisors, co-workers to get the problem solved. Maintains PM's, rebuild gas pumps, material pumps, boosters, gas boosters, etc. Operate milling machines, drill presses, tools and measuring tools.
• Develop ways to increase the effectiveness of machines and equipment. Install new piping, improve designs of machines and equipment.
Requirements:
• Education: Equivalent to a basic high school education and formal training in a technical field with certificate of completion.
• Experience: One year of experience in a similar or related position.
