As an apprentice, you will be given visibility of a range of operation disciplines in which a personal development plan will be created for your learning and development needs associated to your role. This includes bespoke technical training within operations and shop floor placements around the business, aiding in development of mechanical and electrical systems in the aerospace industry, working on both commercial and military aircraft. During the final year of the apprenticeship, apprentices will move into a yearlong placement based on skills displayed during the 3 years on site.

Supporting the business and operational requirements of modern integrated engineered production plant and services, Electrical Systems and Process Control Technicians and Electromechanical Technicians will need to apply a range of conventional skills and knowledge to undertake engineering activities on a selection of electromechanical and process control plant, systems and equipment.
You will undertake installation, testing, servicing, removal, replacement, maintenance and repair of a range of equipment, sometimes complex, as part of planned preventative and reactive maintenance programmes. They may also undertake decommissioning activities when plant is being removed from service.

Generate CNC machine code from CAD models for use on the milling machine
Read engineering drawings and utilize metrology equipment to perform part inspections
Provide support to prototype builds and vehicle installation, including creation and maintenance of build documentation
Coordinate with external venders to undertake routine maintenance activities for workshop tools and equipment
Undertake general administrative tasks to support Operations activities, such as reviewing and updating risk assessments and ensuring the workshop remains in good order
Support the set-up of new work areas by positioning parts, tools, and furniture correctly in the workshop before a build and putting these away once finished
Understand the strict safety requirements for high voltage working and be the second person that must be present when high voltage work is being undertaken
