Main Duties & Responsibilities of the Maintenance Team Leader:
Providing plant wide PPM and reactive maintenance service, departmental support and maintenance repairs
Workload management overseeing the allocation of maintenance tasks across the department
Strengthen the team and enhance engineering capabilities to improve plant performance and increase efficiency
Subcontractor Management ensuring safety standards are met
Drive improvements in plant reliability through best practices.
Required Experience and Qualifications of the Maintenance Team Leader:
UK Apprenticeship in Engineering - NVQ Level 3 & BTEC Level 3 qualification or equivalent
Strong understanding of environmental health and safety practices
Familiarity with manufacturing costs and cost control
Proven experience in Mechanical or Electrical maintenance within a manufacturing setting
Experience with developing and implementing PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) activities.

Assist qualified fitters with inspection, servicing, and repair of HGVs and bulk tankers.
Learn to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults.
Support in conducting routine maintenance in line with manufacturer and DVSA standards.
Help to maintain workshop cleanliness, organisation, and safety standards.
Learn to use diagnostic tools and workshop equipment safely and correctly.
Follow health and safety procedures at all times.
Keep accurate records of work carried out and parts used.
Develop a strong understanding of tanker systems, including compressors, blowers, and pressure/vacuum systems.
Training:
Training Location - Hartlepool College of Further Education.
Training will be 1 day a week.
Training Outcome:Once qualified, you will be well-placed to build a long-term career at Halcyon Tankers. The apprentice will be preparing machines for field testing, performing tests and validation of soft and hardware, alongside other technical improvements
They will learn how to produce detailed technical reports on machines in the field from the first customer feedback to the creation of the documentation needed for the factory Engineering teams
The role would encompass a mix of practical tasks, both in the field and in the workshop, alongside office-based IT tasks
They will also learn how to diagnose and repair complex faults in state of the art electrical and hydraulic systems

Block Release Training with the CLAAS Academy at Saxham
3 weekly blocks, 3 times per year
Training Outcome:
The apprentice would be expected to successfully complete Level 2 apprenticeship standard in Land-Based Service Engineering and then progress onto the Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard in Land-Based Service Engineering Technician
