We are looking for an enthusiastic Electronic Hardware Integration Apprentice to join our team specializing in Engine Electronic Hardware Integration Design for our Power Systems Business Unit in UK, Daventry office. During your apprenticeship with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential!
This course is designed to develop multi-disciplinary engineers with strong foundations in mechanical, electrical, and electronic engineering. You will work alongside fellow Engineers within the team to learn core engineering principles and gain practical, real time, experience and training in design and development using CAD/CAE tools. The program also covers materials, systems thinking, and design-for-manufacture, emphasizing effective communication across multi-disciplinary teams and departments to ensure compliance with industry standards. In the final two years, you will follow the Electrical and Electronic Technical Support Engineer Apprentice pathway, equipping you with the skills to contribute effectively to engineering projects within the power systems sector. During the apprenticeship, you will work five days per week in the workplace and attend Warwick University on a block-release basis.
On completion, you will achieve a Level 6 Bachelor of Engineering degree.

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on building services systems.
Maintain, service, and fault-find HVAC systems, including boilers, chillers, air handling units, and ventilation systems.
Support the maintenance of electrical building services, including lighting, power distribution, and emergency systems.
Maintain water services, drainage, compressed air, and steam systems where applicable.
Ensure building services operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with statutory requirements.
Respond promptly to breakdowns and emergencies to minimise disruption to operations.
Liaise with external contractors and service providers when specialist support is required.
Complete accurate maintenance records, permits, and documentation in line with company procedures.
Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health & safety, food safety, and site hygiene standards.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, energy efficiency, and cost reduction.
Support compliance with legal inspections, certifications, and audits (e.g. gas safety, pressure systems, LOLER).
Training:Duration approximately 40-45 months.
Year 1, between 22–39 weeks are spent at HWGTA Training Centre developing practical engineering skills, alongside one day per week in the classroom, completing the theoretical elements of the EAL Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering.Year 2, predominantly based in your company, returning to the Training Centre one day per week to continue and complete the specialised elements of their Level 3 Diploma (Development Knowledge).

About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Software Test & Development Engineer to join a product development team working on software-controlled power systems used in long-life, safety-critical applications.
This role is well suited to someone early in their career who enjoys writing code, breaking software (on purpose), and understanding how software interacts with real hardware. You don’t need prior industry experience - training, mentoring, and hands-on support are built into the role.
You’ll help develop and test the software used to manage power feeding equipment, which provides controlled electrical current to complex infrastructure systems. Your work will directly contribute to system safety, reliability, and performance.
What You’ll Be Working On
Based in Greenwich, you’ll work closely with software developers, test engineers, and the wider product development team to:
Develop and test software used to control power systems
Carry out unit testing, integration testing, and system-level testing
Help verify that software operates within defined safety and design limits
Produce clear test evidence and compliance reports
Identify bugs, unexpected behaviour, and opportunities for improvement
This is a hands-on role that blends software development, testing, and real-world system understanding.

What We’re Looking For
This role is designed for graduates - we’re more interested in curiosity, problem-solving, and clear thinking than deep industry experience.

Software & Programming
Experience writing software in C and/or C++ (through university projects, placements, or personal work)
Some familiarity with HTML

Testing & Systems Thinking
An interest in software testing across firmware, software, and hardware boundaries
