Business Development Manager, Leicestershire. Up to £50,000.
Turn a worried first phone call into someone's next chapter, and put a growing care group on the map while you do it.
When a family finally picks up the phone about care for someone they love, they're rarely just asking about a room. They're anxious, a bit guilty, and trying to make one of the hardest calls of their lives. How that first conversation goes shapes everything that comes after.
That's your job. And it's only half of it.
The other half is making sure families know this group exists in the first place, and that they trust what they find when they look.
It's a rare mix of a role, and it's built for someone with real energy. Part of it is admissions, guiding families from that first enquiry through the tour, the assessment and the move in, with warmth and no pressure. The other part is marketing, where you'll own the campaigns, the social channels and the reputation of a family run group that genuinely wants your ideas. You'll look after the enquiry pipeline and the conversion data on one side, and a Content Creator and an Activities Lead on the other. Occupancy and brand, both sitting with one person. You.
If you've spent a few years as a customer relations manager, an admissions lead or a group admissions and marketing manager in care, and you're ready to own the whole thing rather than one slice of it, this is your step up.
You'll build the relationships that fill homes, working with social workers, discharge teams, brokerage and Local Authorities. At the same time you'll make sure the group's online presence and every family review tell the story these homes deserve. You'll be out in the community too, in the hospital discharge meetings, at the networking forums, picking up the success stories and turning them into the reason the next family picks up the phone.
And when you walk a family round a home, you'll see it the way they do. You'll notice what looks warm and what looks tired, what draws the eye and what quietly puts people off. That instinct for what makes a place feel like somewhere you'd trust with your mum is a big part of what sets this role apart from straight sales.
The non-negotiables
This is a senior, dual role, so we're being genuinely selective. To be right for it you'll need:
Real care sector experience. You know how homes work, how families decide, and what regulated care actually means.
A track record of driving occupancy. Commissioning, admissions, customer relations, whatever the title, you've helped fill beds and you can point to the numbers.
The marketing half too. Campaigns, social channels, content and brand, not just the sales side. Both halves matter here.
The confidence and drive to get out from behind the desk, in front of managers, families and professionals, and make things happen without waiting to be asked.
A full UK driving licence and your own transport, because you'll be travelling across a cluster of homes in Leicestershire.
The right to work in the UK. This role is not open to sponsorship.
A quick bit of honesty, because it saves us both time. If your background is call centre or general sales with no care or marketing behind it, this one won't play to your strengths. And if you're a strong marketer who'd rather stay at your screen than be out meeting people, the same is true. This role rewards someone who can do both and genuinely enjoys the people side.
Why this one's worth a look
The salary is up to £50,000. Beyond that, it's a supportive, forward thinking group where creativity and initiative are actually valued rather than just mentioned in the induction. You'll get the chance to shape the growth and reputation of a respected care provider, and to make a real difference to families at the moment it counts most.
Sound like you? Apply with your CV, even a rough or out of date one, and we'll sort the rest. Or call Tim at Recruitment Panda for a confidential chat.
