The business was renamed Brandwells Construction Co Ltd before it commenced trading. Joe and Andy had worked together in two previous employments, firstly at Avonmouth Plant & Construction Co. Ltd (APC) and later at Durnfords Construction Ltd (Durnfords), based in central Bristol. At APC, I was a trainee when first assigned to work under Joe, who was a senior Contracts Manager for the Company. Some years later, after I had had a spell as a Site Engineer for Holland and Hannen and Cubitts Ltd, we again came together when Joe left APC and took up the position of Managing Director at Durnfords Construction and invited me to join him as his Contract Manager. After about 7 years of working together, the Company was subject to a takeover, and this is what led to us jointly deciding to branch out on our own. The birth of Brandwells Construction. The company continued to grow and now has established itself as one of the foremost groundworks contractors in the South West, we have attained preferred contractor status with quite a number of our clients. Our clients now include most of the major housing developers: Barratt Homes, Lovell, Redrow, Taylor Wimpey, Linden and Bovis (now Vistry), David Wilson and Bellway as well as a number of smaller regional development companies. Where we are today There have been many ups and downs along the way, including recessions, the financial crisis of 2008 and most recently the Covid pandemic but the Company has managed to weather the storms and, thanks to the strong and dedicated team of people who make up the present-day management, not forgetting the now 300 plus operatives who actually do the work, we are stronger than ever. 2022 saw the opening of a South West Regional office at Alphington, Exeter to cope with the growth in our workload in this area and it was also a record year for the Company with turnover hitting an all-time high of over £62 million. 2023 promises to be another challenging year in the wake of the pandemic and as a consequence of the energy crisis brought on by the war in Ukraine, but from its position of strength there is every hope that we will see off that challenge as we have many times in the past.Working Hours :Monday- Friday. Business Development Manager
Business Development Manager, Leicestershire. Up to £50,000. Turn a worried first phone call into someone's next chapter, and put a growing care group on the map while you do it. When a family finally picks up the phone about care for someone they love, they're rarely just asking about a room. They're anxious, a bit guilty, and trying to make one of the hardest calls of their lives. How that first conversation goes shapes everything that comes after. That's your job. And it's only half of it. The other half is making sure families know this group exists in the first place, and that they trust what they find when they look. It's a rare mix of a role, and it's built for someone with real energy. Part of it is admissions, guiding families from that first enquiry through the tour, the assessment and the move in, with warmth and no pressure. The other part is marketing, where you'll own the campaigns, the social channels and the reputation of a family run group that genuinely wants your ideas. You'll look after the enquiry pipeline and the conversion data on one side, and a Content Creator and an Activities Lead on the other. Occupancy and brand, both sitting with one person. You. If you've spent a few years as a customer relations manager, an admissions lead or a group admissions and marketing manager in care, and you're ready to own the whole thing rather than one slice of it, this is your step up. You'll build the relationships that fill homes, working with social workers, discharge teams, brokerage and Local Authorities. At the same time you'll make sure the group's online presence and every family review tell the story these homes deserve. You'll be out in the community too, in the hospital discharge meetings, at the networking forums, picking up the success stories and turning them into the reason the next family picks up the phone. And when you walk a family round a home, you'll see it the way they do. You'll notice what looks warm and what looks tired, what draws the eye and what quietly puts people off. That instinct for what makes a place feel like somewhere you'd trust with your mum is a big part of what sets this role apart from straight sales. The non-negotiables This is a senior, dual role, so we're being genuinely selective. To be right for it you'll need: Real care sector experience. You know how homes work, how families decide, and what regulated care actually means. A track record of driving occupancy. Commissioning, admissions, customer relations, whatever the title, you've helped fill beds and you can point to the numbers. The marketing half too. Campaigns, social channels, content and brand, not just the sales side. Both halves matter here. The confidence and drive to get out from behind the desk, in front of managers, families and professionals, and make things happen without waiting to be asked. A full UK driving licence and your own transport, because you'll be travelling across a cluster of homes in Leicestershire. The right to work in the UK. This role is not open to sponsorship. A quick bit of honesty, because it saves us both time. If your background is call centre or general sales with no care or marketing behind it, this one won't play to your strengths. And if you're a strong marketer who'd rather stay at your screen than be out meeting people, the same is true. This role rewards someone who can do both and genuinely enjoys the people side. Why this one's worth a look The salary is up to £50,000. Beyond that, it's a supportive, forward thinking group where creativity and initiative are actually valued rather than just mentioned in the induction. You'll get the chance to shape the growth and reputation of a respected care provider, and to make a real difference to families at the moment it counts most. Sound like you? Apply with your CV, even a rough or out of date one, and we'll sort the rest. Or call Tim at Recruitment Panda for a confidential chat. Recruitment Panda Ltd is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy. Registered Manager - Care at Home
Registered Manager – Care at Home - Highlands You're good at this. You know it. The rota shifts at 6am and you've already got it covered. A carer calls in sick on a Friday, a care plan needs updating before the morning run, a commissioner is chasing a report. You handle it, because you always do. The question is whether the service you're doing it for deserves that. This one might. A well-established care at home service based around 14 miles north of Inverness is looking for a Registered Manager to take the reins and grow something worth growing. It's a live, operational service delivering around 700 hours of care per week across a wide rural geography, with a clear, realistic plan to grow sustainably beyond 1,000. A team of 26 care practitioners is in place, a Care Coordinator and Team Leads are alongside you, and the infrastructure to build properly is there. What the service needs is someone who brings more than a job title. Someone who understands that lone workers operating across remote Highland communities need more than a rota, they need a manager who sees them, supports them and sets the standard consistently. This is what a strong week in this role looks like. Care plans that reflect people's lives as they are today, not six months ago. Compliance that stands up to scrutiny and means something operationally. Supervision that staff actually benefit from rather than just tick off. Commissioner relationships built on reliability and honest communication. A service that grows because the quality earns it. The Highland setting is unique. The geography demands logistics thinking and independence of judgement. If you've managed care at home in a rural area before, you'll recognise it immediately. If you haven't, the relocation support on offer, including open discussion around housing and temporary accommodation during your transition, makes the move more achievable than you might think. Sponsorship may also be available for the right candidate with strong care at home experience. Who you'll be working with and what that looks like in practice. The Operations Manager you'd report into has spent her career at the sharp end of care at home. Former Operations Director for one of the Highlands' largest providers, and someone who has grown the Dingwall branch herself since taking it on. She's not a figurehead, she's operationally fluent, well-connected with commissioners, and genuinely invested in the right person succeeding. That means real support. Not a check-in once a month and left to it. If there's a development area you want to build, clinical specialism, quality improvement, workforce strategy, there's appetite to back that properly, with protected time and resource. Decisions that sit within operational delivery are yours to make. Budget sign-off sits higher in the business, which is worth knowing upfront. But day-to-day, you run the service. The culture here is straightforward. Standards matter. The team are treated well, genuinely, not just on paper. And the expectation is that you build something stable enough that the people above you aren't worried when they're not in the office. That's the benchmark. By the end of year one, success looks like this: care hours growing steadily toward 1,000, a team that's properly supervised and retained, an inspection outcome that reflects the quality of the work, and a commissioner relationship built on consistency. Growth beyond the single branch is a realistic longer-term conversation for the right person, but that starts with making this one the service it should be. What will help you succeed: Several years working within care at home services — not just social care more broadly Registered Manager experience or a clear, credible route to registration Confidence managing compliance, inspections and stakeholder relationships A full UK driving licence Qualifications being sought: SCQF Level 9 in a health, social work or related field Leadership and Management at SCQF Level 10 (or a committed plan to complete it) SVQ Level 4 in Health and Social Care — or readiness to move quickly toward it A competitive salary is on offer, aligned to experience. If your background is rooted in care at home and the Highlands feels like somewhere you could build a career, not just fill a vacancy, send your CV across. It doesn't need to be updated. A conversation costs nothing. Or call Tim directly. He's the Principal Consultant working closely with this employer.
