GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The Maintenance Helper supports and ensures the completion of day-to-day maintenance activities at the plant. The position provides support to leadership for all maintenance staff to drive excellence and maximize effort. The position focuses on maintaining high-quality standards through the efforts expended at the facility that meet and exceed customer expectations while maintaining a professional and equally efficient environment for all production employees.
Perform standard work in a safe manner by following all written and verbally communicated safety rules and procedures.
Inspect and repair plant equipment, including but not limited to mechanical, welding, carpentry, electrical, instrumentation and controls to minimize downtime.
Document accurate maintenance activity records.
Clean and maintain assigned areas and tools to ensure proper functionality.
Participate in the continuous improvement process.
Report incidents, near misses, and any non-conformances through the appropriate channels.
Exemplify the expected values of organization including following policies and standard work procedures.
Give input on and coordinate maintenance supply purchases.
Perform Preventative Maintenance Program to ensure completion and accuracy.
Other projects and tasks as assigned.
Cross-train on other production functions to aid as business need dictates.

As a Learning Centre Apprentice you will have many different duties, for all these duties you will receive training as well as achieving a Level 3 business qualification.
In time you will help students to achieve their learning aims through effective guidance, induction, delivery and assessment, including facilitation and tutorials.
You will also learn to ensure that student inductions, tutorials and reviews are carried out timely and recorded accurately and organise, administer and maintain student files in accordance with the Learning Centre systems.

We are recruiting for 3 vacancies. One to cover the North of England which will also require working in Scotland (Ayrshire area). The second will be covering Stevenage and surrounding areas. And the third, covering Sailsbury and Winchester areas. There will also be travel to Nottingham and other GAUK sites for training.
The apprenticeship begins with the Level 3 Gas Engineering programme, delivered over 18 months using a structured block-release model.
Apprentices attend the training academy for one week per month, where learning is delivered through a combination of classroom-based teaching and practical sessions in realistic training bays.
Academy delivery focuses on developing strong technical knowledge, safe working practices, and practical competence, led by experienced engineers with current industry knowledge.
Training is carefully sequenced, so core topics are introduced in the academy before being reinforced through workplace activity. Between academy weeks, apprentices continue their development on site with an experienced mentor, applying recently learnt knowledge in real working environments.
Mentors support apprentices to observe, practise, and reflect on tasks linked directly to their learning, allowing skills and understanding to be embedded over time. Apprentices also complete structured workplace activities and portfolio evidence to demonstrate ongoing progress.
This blended approach ensures learning is consistently reinforced through practical application, supporting steady progression towards occupational competence.

These include the Level 3 Diploma in Gas Engineering, Unvented Hot Water, Water Regulations, Safe Isolation, Wiring, Controls on S- and Y-Plan systems, and ultimately GasSafe registration.
These achievements are planned and sequenced, so knowledge and practical skills are developed progressively, reinforced through academy delivery and on-site mentoring. The Grounds Person will liaise with the Management team and assist with all day-to-day requirements of the multiple site maintenance areas
To regularly maintain 3g playing surfaces, e.g., brushing, raking, litter removal, goal maintenance
To ensure playing surfaces avoid misuse by users and members of the public
To ensure that the entrance and border areas of the playing fields are kept tidy and presentable and are free from misuse

As a Fitter Apprentice, you will gain experience across a variety of Operation disciplines in which a personal development plan will be created for your learning and development needs associated to your role.
This includes bespoke technical training within Operations and shop floor placements around the business, providing practical exposure to the development of mechanical and electrical systems within the aerospace industry, with particular focus on Air to Air Refuelling and Actuation.
During the final year of the Apprenticeship, Apprentices will move into a year long placement in an area that suits your strengths and interests, building on the skills you’ve developed during your first three years on site.
Throughout your Apprenticeship, you will learn how to work from Engineering drawings and technical documentation to carry out assembly, installation, testing and fault finding tasks.
You’ll be fully trained in how to follow:
Engineering procedures and safety requirements, and will be working both independently and as part of a supportive team
You will develop practical fitting and assembly skills, including the use of hand tools, measuring equipment, inspection techniques, and electrical/electronic test methods
By the end of the programme, you will be confident working with minimal supervision, taking responsibility for the quality of your work, proactively finding solutions to problems and contributing to continuous improvement activities.
You will leave the Apprenticeship scheme with the skills, knowledge, and experience needed to begin your career as a fully qualified Mechanical Fitter.
The structure of the Apprenticeship programme will be as follows:
Year 1 - 2 - During your first 2 years, you will combine work based learning whilst attending day release at Bournemouth and Poole College, where you will study towards the Level 3 Advanced Manufacturing (Development Knowledge) qualification through classroom based education
While on site, you will take part in shop floor based rotational placements designed to give you a broader understanding of the business and to support the requirements of your college curriculum
Rotation placement examples include spending time within our emergency missile and actuation testing facility, assembly, testing, and maintenance of air refuelling pods and validating of parts to ensure they meet aerospace standards
Year 3 - Predominately work based at Eaton Mission Systems Division, Wimborne with 1 day per week day release to Bournemouth and Poole College to complete year three of the Level 3 Advanced Manufacturing (Development Knowledge) Technical Certificate
Rotations will be a combination of 3 or 4.5 months placements within our Operations function to increase knowledge and skills and to gain experience in a variety of areas across the business that support our shop floors teams
Placements will include time spent within our UK Aerospace Additive Manufacturing Centre of Excellence, Manufacturing Engineering and gaining an insight into our After Market repairs services. Year 4 - In your final year, you will be based full time at Eaton Mission Systems Division in Wimborne, completing a dedicated year long placement within a team that aligns with the strengths and interests you have demonstrated throughout your first three years
