As an apprentice, you will be working alongside a team of experienced technicians, where you will learn to maintain and repair customers' vehicles to an extremely high standard.
You will be working on the latest modern vehicle products and technologies. This will include the latest vehicle operating electronic systems, including alternative fuelled vehicle systems such as EV (full electric vehicles), hybrid vehicles and, where applicable, hydrogen-powered vehicles.
Your duties will include:
General servicing and repairs. This will require the candidate to work to the manufacturer’s guidelines to ensure the vehicle is operating to its optimum required performance
The candidate will be expected to, under guidance and mentoring, learn processes and procedures as required in respect of vehicle technical repairs. This will also include the manufacturer’s warranty processes and procedures
The candidate will be guided through more complex diagnostic and repair procedures involving electronic vehicle operating systems
Examples of these are ABS systems, electric engine management operating systems, electronic operating gearbox systems, electronic operating steering systems, ADAS operating systems, and infotainment systems
Please note you will be required to drive these vehicles. Therefore, a full UK driving licence is required.Training Outcome:

Successful candidates may be offered permanent employment and specialist training, advanced diagnostic qualifications, and opportunities to progress into senior technician or workshop supervisory roles
Employer Description:Established in 2006, 4 Rings Motors is an independent, family-run automotive repair centre with an excellent reputation for quality workmanship and customer service. We specialise in servicing, diagnostics, mechanical repairs and maintenance for prestige vehicles including Audi, Mercedes-Benz, and Volkswagen, while also working on all makes and models. In addition, we carry out accident body repairs, refinishing and alloy wheel refurbishment from our fully equipped modern workshop. Using the latest diagnostic technology and specialist equipment, we pride ourselves on delivering dealer-level expertise with the personal service of an independent garage. As an apprentice working for Auto Windscreens, you will be learning the day-to-day life of a windscreen technician. You will be working in one of our local fitting centres on customers' vehicles, which will include:
Repairing chips in glass
The replacement of windscreens and body glass on a variety of vehicles
With cars becoming more and more technology-focused, you will also learn tasks like recalibration of sensors for features like automatic wipers, automatic braking and lane detection
Training:
The majority of your time would be spent working with a mentor in your fixed base location and monthly visits from an assessor
When you first join the company, you will visit our Head Office in Chesterfield for your initial induction and training. During your visit, you will receive your company uniform, learn about our health and safety procedures, gain a further understanding of the role, and we will arrange any required travel and accommodation.
There will be set training days away with the technical training team at head office throughout your apprenticeship and at the end of the programme, you will be trained to a Level 3 Glazing Technician
