Key Responsibilities:
Operate and set machinery following the Company’s production engineering and quality procedures.
Conduct frequency gauge checks in line with production engineering and quality protocols.
Report defects, including scrap and RTS, to the cell leader, specifying work order, part number, and reason.
Ensure correct tooling installation and adherence to specification sheets.
Complete daily short interval scheduling sheets accurately and promptly.
Perform daily/weekly machine setter operator checklists for coolants, oils, and machine health and safety.
Train operators or setter operators as needed.
Dispose of consumable items following the Company’s ISO 14001 procedures.
Undertake KPS activities as directed by the Cell Leader.
Perform TPM as required.
Adhere to health and safety guidelines by wearing company-issued personal protective equipment at all times.
Ensure machinery guarding is in place during operation.
Immediately report damaged or faulty guarding or machinery to the Cell Leader.

Some machine shop/CNC setting experience (training will be provided).
Ability to work according to the specified shift pattern.
Capable of working autonomously and collaboratively, prioritizing company health, safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Demonstrable good work record in a related manufacturing environment.

The ideal Offline CNC Programmer (EDGECAM) will have the following experience / characteristics:
Completed relevant engineering apprenticeship such as a CNC / Manual machinist, Toolmaker, Mechanical Engineer.
Recent experience of using Hexagon’s EDGECAM CADCAM offline CNC programming software
Previous experience of setting and operating CNC Milling machines.
Able to read engineering drawings and use had held dimensional measuring equipment.
Must have undertaken formal training in CNC programming
Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
Highly motivated and keen to succeed.
Attended training courses run by relevant software / machine manufacturers (advantageous)
PTC / Creo (Pro-Manufacture or Pro-Engineer) programming experience (advantageous)

The Role:
Based in Skelmersdale, as the CNC Turner Programmer Setter Operator you will be primarily responsible for programming and operating CNC machines.
In the CNC Turner Programmer Setter Operator role, you’ll be tasked with the following:
Use of steadies to machine components up to 4M long.
To ensure supplied product meets all customer requirements.
Documenting all Required Data and Reporting in correct manner.
Ensuring inspection equipment in a known state of calibration is used for checking customer product.
For ensuring that the unique part identity and status of products handled is maintained
For working safely and following company safety codes.
Must be time served (NVQ 3 or equivalent). Experience in a previous or similar position (3 years minimum)
Have a good understanding of ISO 9001/2015 quality systems.
Good planning and organisation skills along with good communications skills both with peers and management.
The standard working hours for this position are Monday to Friday 08:00 – 16:30 or shifts where deemed required.
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate for this CNC Turner Programmer Setter Operator role will have relevant experience of establishing tool requirements.
You’ll also need experience of reading, writing and understanding CNC programs in FANUC (essential).
Plus, it’s vital that you’ve got experience of generating programs offline using CAPT CAD Cam system or One CNC.
In addition, you’ll need the ability to read and understand drawings and the ability to use and read a range of measuring equipment to perform the CNC Turner Programmer Setter Operator role.
