Position Summary
The Temporary Operator can work in our Felt Department or in our Roofing Department AT OUR Cleveland Plant. They start-up, troubleshoot, and operate manufacturing and production equipment safely and routinely while achieving or exceeding standard levels of production, according to specifications. This position can turn into a regular union position if the employee completes the probationary period, successfully. During the probationary period, this position will be on 1st Shift. If the employee successfully completes the probationary period and becomes a regular employee, the position will most likely change to 2nd or 3rd shift, depending on Plant needs.
Duties and Responsibilities
Performs work in a safe manner, according to safety rules and guidelines Communicates with Team Lead and/or Supervisor during shift-changes and throughout shift Understands and operates the HMI at the various stations along the line, to keep the line operating safely and efficiently Monitors weight, speed, and other metrics along the line Operates forklift to move raw materials, load carrier and move finished product Makes raw material batches in the appropriate mixer(s), according to specifications Performs quality control tests on the batches, per established guidelines Ensures proper labels are being used on the taping machine Fills appropriate-sized pails, drums or totes, labels filled-items and places pails/drums on pallet Follows Tremco's Escalation Policy for any safety or quality concerns Performs daily housekeeping/cleaning of immediate area and other surrounding areas, as needed During line down-time, performs housekeeping duties in immediate area, other areas of the plant or assist in other departments Performs other duties, as assigned All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to their race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability or veteran status.Apply for this ad Online!....Read more...

Required Experience:
High school graduate or equivalent. Experience with CNC Operations preferred. Measuring up and producing hand-drawn sketches from existing machine modifications (on the shop floor) so that you can model them later.
Creating and modifying 3D solid models using SolidWorks.
Producing Drawings for the shop floor and suppliers that meet quality and technical standards (BS8888).
Creating and updating Part Numbers in line with Company Procedures (ISO9001).
Opportunity to engage and contribute to design improvements on existing and new products.
Learning how to create BOMS, SOPs and instruction manuals and work with Legislation.

You will undertake the Engineering Design Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard (https://www.instituteforapprenticeships.org/apprenticeship-standards/st0164-v1-2).
You will undertake Functional Skills for English and/or Maths if needed.
You will undertake both on and off-the-job training by a team of industry qualified professionals to give you the best skills, knowledge and experience that will help you become a CAD Designer/Operator of the future!
Training Outcome:
Successful completion of the apprenticeship could lead to a higher-level apprenticeship or full-time employment for the right candidate.

Day-to-day tasks include:
Inspect and test products (visually and using micrometres, verniers), taking appropriate action to confirm the quality of products or materials
Finishing and packing of products ready for dispatch
Laser buddying/operating
Maintain accurate, clear and complete records in line with internal procedures and requirements
Following training, work with minimum supervision and in a positive manner with the manufacturing team and other employees to meet the departmental and business objectives
Cleaning and maintaining the working area, environment and machinery to a tidy and safe standard
Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures and health and safety policies
Cooperating with and assisting colleagues and ensuring positive teamwork and relationships
Carrying out any other reasonable duties not specifically stated within this job description, as requested by your supervisor or the managing director
Once able to undertake the above tasks satisfactorily, depending on the apprentice's strengths, training may also be provided on grinding, running the lathe, running the milling machine and other machinery
Training:This is a 15-month apprenticeship resulting in a Level 2 Mechanical Engineering Operative qualification.
Training will include attending the training provider one day per week for the duration of the apprenticeship - this will be at In-Comm Training Services in Telford, Shropshire, TF3 3AJ
