Purchase Ledger Administration including:
Accurate coding and posting of invoices onto the system in line with budget holder expectations and budget worksheets
Conducting weekly purchase ledger runs
Liaising with suppliers and budget holders to resolve queries or discrepancies
Maintaining an efficient recording and filing system
Completion of daily interfacing routine including:
Importing of daily transactions from Finova
Reconciliation of control accounts
Processing CHAPS, BACS and Faster Payments as required and posting of all payments to the cash book
Returning unallocated customer standing order receipts within SLA as per internal instruction, requesting bank details from the Society’s Clearing Bank as and when necessary
Completion of daily bank reconciliations for the Society’s main current account (No1 Account) and the Society’s cheque clearance accounts (Cheque Banking) ensuring all items are accurately and timely posted and reconciled in line with procedure manuals and SLAs

As an Accounts/Finance Assistant apprentice, you will play a key role in supporting the finance team with day-to-day financial operations. Your tasks may include:

Regular reviews will take place between the employer, apprentice, and OCSW to ensure progress and support is aligned
This blended approach ensures the apprentice gains both practical experience and theoretical knowledge to successfully complete the Level 2 AAT qualification.Training Outcome:Upon successful completion of the Accounts/Finance Assistant apprenticeship, the apprentice may progress to the Level 3 AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting, further developing their skills and knowledge.
