JOB DESCRIPTION
GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The Design Engineer assesses project requirements, gathers technical field data, determines design requirements, selects appropriate equipment, and provides drafting of HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) restoration projects. This role combines engineering expertise with drafting skills to ensure that projects are planned and constructed effectively.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Conducts on-site visits and assessments to understand the specific scope and technical requirements of individual projects. This includes evaluating existing HVAC systems, identifying issues or challenges, and testing equipment performance. • Determines scope and designs solutions for HVAC restoration projects via site visits and coordination with owner/facility staff. • Understands components and functions of existing mechanical systems being altered or renovated. • Exercises control over design and production tasks to enable HVAC restoration projects. • Drafts construction documents and generates specifications for HVAC restoration projects. • Utilizes in-house estimating tools to create project budgets. • Assists the sales team with scope reviews and support as needed. • Creates, maintains, and improves drafting tools and templates. • Determines the estimated cost of HVAC projects. This includes calculating costs for labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and any other expenses associated with the project. • Ensures a smooth transition from design to project execution, providing technical guidance and insights during and after construction. • Other duties as assigned by the manager.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: • Engineer Intern (EI) Certification • Professional Engineer (PE) License is preferred
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Sales, Construction Management and 2-3 years of construction or industry experience OR

Two plus years sales experience and/or training with ACM metal panels
Construction knowledge (i.e., waterproofing, air barriers, framing, modular, glazing etc.)
Basic knowledge of product chemistries

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The General Contracting (GC) Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects related to the General Contracting business (including GC and larger-scale P&R, TremCares, etc.) within the assigned region. This will involve working with Construction Managers, CM Associates, Project Managers, Service Managers, Supervisors, Foremen, GC Superintendents, Tremco Sales Representatives, Owners, and Subcontractors to ensure projects are performed safely, meet customers' expectations, conform to contractual obligations, and meet financial objectives. Additional duties will include participating in proposals, specifications, price estimates, schedules, and sales efforts as they affect the region. Additionally, responsibilities will encompass Sales & Service Support, Field Resource & Customer Management communication as necessary. The GC Manager will create and execute training plans for new CM, CM Associate, and Project Manager positions for new employees. The GC Manager, along with the RBM, is responsible for the overall profitability and performance of all GC projects in the region(s). Abide by all Company policies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direct WTI personnel and work cross-functionally with other Tremco and WTI external and internal departments to maximize efforts and results in sales, compliance, safety, and profitability. Act as a liaison between headquarters and the field to ensure that effective two-way communication takes place, and that positive results are achieved. Assess daily operational situations for crisis management, safety, and escalation protocol. Determine solutions to project issues, including but not limited to, field resource management, workload balance, job site conditions, product management issues, etc. Travel to job sites as needed to provide support to account resources (including rooftop projects). Travel to customer or sales meeting as needed to support business or account activities. Accountable for regional cost/budget variance & profitability as it relates to General Contracting. Accountable for regional Quality Assurance. Understanding of subcontractor agreement and corrective measures of notification to subcontractor per the executed agreement. Ensure Construction Managers are setting project timelines and goals. Identify resource or employee concerns and act promptly to resolve and engage appropriate HR or WTI management. Ensure documentation on employee issues is prompt and submitted to HR. Act as an agent of change and improvement and adapt quickly to changing business priorities. Manage key metrics and report regularly or as required. Coordinate work with Program Managers, Sales & Service Support, Customer Management (WTI & Tremco Roofing and Resource Management. Participate in the Preventive and Corrective Action process with responsibility and authority to: Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformity relating to service, process, and quality. Identify and record any service, process, or quality system problems. Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels. Verify the implementation of solutions. GC Manager will have Cost Model approval authority for projects where the Gross Margin for Service is less than the stated requirements. Further approvals may be needed. Assist when needed to review proposals received, conduct contractor interviews for specification and contractual compliance. Approve Proposals for submission (i.e., pricing, specification, scope).
