The Role
We are looking for Retail stock counters to add to our already successful team.
Work will be carried out on different Retail customer sites and stores and travel will vary on a shift-by-shift basis. All travel is provided on the minibus.
You will be responsible for ensuring stock is counted quickly and accurately using a handheld scanner.
Being able to stand for prolonged periods of time is needed for the role and access equipment may have to be used on occasion to reach high stock
Typical working week will consist of 3-4 x 8-12hr shifts
Key Skills/ Experience Required
Due to the nature of our work, you must be able to work unsociable hours including early mornings and during the night when required. As a result, we can only accept applicants 18 years and over
You must have a ‘can do’ attitude and be able to work long shifts where required on large counts.
With our innovative business, the technology changes and therefore being a quick learner is a key skill required.

The Apprentice CNC Machinist will spend time within the machine shop and will learn about CNC milling and CNC turning. The apprentice will be involved with manufacturing aerospace components made from aluminium, stainless and mild steel.

The magnesium business within LMT design, develop and manufacture novel magnesium alloys used in a range of applications from aerospace to oil and gas.
As an R&D Apprentice you will be predominantly based in the Zirconium R&D team, where you will be involved in developing future zirconium advanced materials. You may also complete placements in other departments such as Quality Assurance and Manufacturing, which will be done in six monthly blocks.
Alongside your studies, you’ll be working as part of the Zirconium Research and Development Team where you will:
Learn to conduct experimental work, initially based on set protocols, and then learning to design your own synthesis and scale up experiments
Learn to characterise the materials you produce using traditional chemistry techniques and a wide variety of analytical instrumentation (for example XRF, ICP-OES, ICP-MS, IC, Particle Size, Surface Area and Porosity instruments)
Learn to interpret the results you generate and learning to present the data you produce
Maintain a high standard of laboratory operating conditions regarding equipment, validity of calibration standards, housekeeping, experimental data records, etc. by adhering to established standards
Ensuring compliance with all Environmental, Health and Safety policies, laws and regulations as they apply to laboratory functions and operations
Training:
Apprentices work full-time whilst studying towards a BSc (Hons) Scientist (Chemical Science) degree from Manchester Metropolitan University, as well as a Level 6 degree apprenticeship
Students study a tutor-supported e-distance learning curriculum and attend residential schools. The work-based projects, negotiated with employers, offer students the opportunity to apply their learning directly to their organisation
The programme is primarily taught through tutor-supported online study, part-time over four years.
Apprentices will attend a two-day induction at the University to help them get to know each other and balance undergraduate study with working full-time. They will also attend a week-long residential at our campus in central Manchester once a year, in addition to a two day mini-residential in the first year
Training Outcome:At the completion of the apprenticeship, there may be an opportunity for a full-time position. Monitor production and carry out removal of all waste materials to correct locations.
Maintain a flexible attitude towards production requirements, to meet Company objectives and targets.
Interact effectively with crew member, assisting as directed in other tasks as required, and learning the skills required to lead a team.
Training:You will undertake professional development and training as part of a cohort of apprentices with the British Printing Industries Federation completing the Level 3 Print Technician apprenticeship.The apprenticeship is delivered over 36 months and covers essential core competencies required within the print industry as well as specialist knowledge, skills and behaviour in your chosen department.You will build a portfolio of work, demonstrating your application of effective print technician duties as well as keep a time log of skills learnt.
You will meet with the BPIF tutor once a month for training and review purposes, based on site in our training room. Training Outcome:Once qualified you will be able to reach the desirable position of 'Printer' or 'Operator' depending on the area of print you work in. This is very much a ‘hands-on’ role, and, under supervision, your responsibilities will include:
working safely in a high-hazard environment, under highly regulated conditions, wearing safety equipment, as directed, and complying with all health, safety and environmental policies and procedures at all times
working in varied conditions, inside and outside, on two process plants or in associated process control rooms
assisting in the start-up, operation and shutdown of plant systems
monitoring, inspecting and controlling plant conditions to ensure plant systems and processes are operating within operational parameters, making adjustments to maximise plant efficiency, minimise cost, meet environmental compliance and ensure product specification
inspecting, cleaning, and maintaining the equipment in accordance with operational instructions
resolving and reporting, or escalating, process, quality, health and safety, environment, and operating environment issues when operating out of normal parameters
working alongside the plant engineering and maintenance personnel to conduct first line routine maintenance and testing of process and plant equipment
conducting handover responsibilities - receiving information from or providing information to other shifts or maintenance teams
completing process documentation
You will be required to work 12-hour shifts on plants running 365-day operations (after a period of foundation training and where working time regulations allow)
This is an exciting time, and a fantastic opportunity, to embark on a hands-on career with Alpek Polyester UK Ltd, a leading global company within the industrial sciences sector.Training:Block release and location: The first 12 months of the apprenticeship will be spent full time at Hartlepool College of Further Education (HCFE) to complete the foundation training and qualification, with a minimum 2 weeks of site placements.
