Autonomous Processing of Biological Samples:
Independently process biological samples through specialised investigations.
Ensure accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to protocols and standards.
Identify and troubleshoot issues related to sample processing and equipment operation.
Operation and Troubleshooting of Specialist Equipment:
Operate and maintain specialised equipment used in sample processing.
Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform routine maintenance.
Keep abreast of technological advancements in equipment and procedures.
Provision of Specialist Advice:
Assess the appropriateness of tests based on clinical indications and patient conditions.
Offer expert advice to clinicians regarding test selection, interpretation, and timescales.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise diagnostic processes and patient care.
Mentorship and Training:
Act as a mentor for junior scientific and support staff, providing guidance and support.
Deliver training sessions to enhance the skills and knowledge of staff members.

Bacteriology Expertise:
Utilise specialised knowledge and skills in bacteriology to perform diagnostic tests.

IBMS Accredited degree
HCPC Registration
Completed / Working towards specialist IBMS portfolio
Significant experience in bacteriology within a clinical laboratory setting.
