DAP is looking for Plant Engineering & Maintenance Intern for Summer 2024.
Job Responsibilities
• Follows all plant safety policies and procedures • Actively participates in continuous improvement projects (OEE, OBE, ZBY)• Assists with capital projects in all phases (concept, funding request, procurement, installation, and start-up) • Supports the plant's maintenance program • Maintains schedules and issues progress reports
Goals/Milestones/Timelines
• Assist with capital projects - Activities and timing TBD, depending upon project schedules • Assist Maintenance dept with improvement projects - (including but not limited to) Create Parts ordering system, organize • Continuous improvement projects
o Participates in active projects. Tasks TBD depending on the project. o Perform time studies on packaging lines to determine bottlenecks O Areas for improvement include ergonomic studies, machine efficiency studies, and process procedures.
Requirements
Major: Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.• Completed freshman year at a minimum. • Required knowledge of Microsoft Project, MS Office. AutoCAD experience a plus. • Statistical Analysis experience would be beneficial. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Ability to interact successfully with others in demanding environment.• Willingness to work with multiple engineering and engineering-related disciplines. • Must have solid time management skills, a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and most importantly, a strong desire to learn.

The Role
Key purpose of the role is to provide day to day management and organisation of all assigned operational employees and sub-contractors engaged in carrying out Roofing Services and associated works
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Responsible for the operational management of Mechanical Technician, Chargehands, Tradespeople, Apprentices and framework Sub-Contractors
Ensure the performance targets set for the post holders ‘division’ are achieved and provide information as required to monitor the KPI’s.

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
As a member of the fabrication team, the Production Assembler performs assigned tasks that include, but are not limited to, producing architectural shapes, Exterior Insulation and Finish System (EIFS) wall components, and exterior panel systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Follows the daily production schedule set by the Production Supervisor. Reads fabrication drawings and tape measurements to prepare materials for assembly. Uses hand power tools to trim corners and fold panel returns. Pre-drills aluminum parts as required. Applies silicone sealant to aluminum extrusions. Attaches aluminum parts using set screws. Assists in building custom crates based on project specifications. Prepares and organizes parts for shipment. Assists with shipping and receiving. Follows all safety requirements. Cleans equipment after use and assists the team in keeping production space clean and organized. Assists with monthly inventory counts.
EDUCATION:
No formal educational requirement. High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
No prior experience or training. Previous work in a construction, manufacturing, or similar environment preferred. Previous work in the aluminum panel or window industry is preferred.

Our Dryvit Engineering Intern will work in conjunction with the Plant Manager, EHS Manager and others to support safety, quality, maintenance, and production processes while learning and utilizing our established process tools such as Process Safety Management, Behavioral Risk Improvement and Lean tools including 5S, A3 Problem Solving, Statistical Process Control and Value Stream Mapping and familiarizing themselves with plant SIOP and the implications of forecasting in a seasonal manufacturing cycle.

Leading small projects for improvement of a process or output. Collecting data for process waste reduction and presenting solutions for improvement. Participating in facility audits and Gemba walks. Preparing Root Cause Analysis reports for incidents as assigned. Assisting in project management of multi-phase projects. Editing or creating piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID). Driving continuous improvement processes. Generating MPST projects to drive cost savings and improve efficiency. Working alongside plant leadership to identify, document and execute capital expense projects. Conducting and/or participating in meetings, communicating information or collaborating on site-specific projects. Learning and understanding our MS168 process. Interacting with plant staff and senior leaders as part of the daily, weekly, monthly tier meeting cadence.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Students pursuing a bachelor's degree in chemical, electrical or mechanical engineering at an accredited college or university. Must be a rising sophomore, junior or senior in good academic standing.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
