The apprentice will undertake various tasks relating to the manufacture of high quality Hydraulic Cylinders.
This will include but not limited to:
Working as a part of a small team, whilst being expected to work under their own initiative as required
Interpreting engineering drawings to ensure correct orientation and standards are met
Employing various welding skills to ensure completed welds are within standards to be fit for hydraulic pressure
Ensure basic housekeeping standards are met
Ensuring their work is completed in a timely manner and suitable for purpose
Welding together many different component parts to create sub assemblies alongside completed customers’ parts
Basic maintenance and housekeeping of the associated welding equipment
Using different welding equipment such as a rotator or standalone unit to complete assigned task
Any other tasks the senior staff deem necessary to complete the delivery of customers’ requirements
Training:
The qualifications and training delivered will be in line with the standards delivered by the Education Partnership NE. AWS D1.1 Structural Welding
Steel Certification: American Welding Society, OR AWS D1.2 Structural Welding Code
Aluminium Certification: American Welding Society, OR ASME Section IX, OR ISO 9606 Qualification testing of welder, OR ISO 14732 Welding personnel - Approval of welding operator, OR BS4872 Specification for approval testing of welders when welding procedure approval is not required

Their UK flagship facility is based in LEEDS, just a few miles from the M1 & M62 motorways, meaning that the successful Pipefitter Charge Hand can easily commute from Wakefield, Bradford, Selby, Castleford, Pontefract, Huddersfield, Wetherby and Harrogate.
For the Pipefitter Charge Hand position, we are keen to hear from individuals who possess the following:
IDEAL NOT ESSENTIAL – Formal qualifications within a Welding or Fabrication discipline (apprenticeship, NVQ/BTEC/City & Guilds Level 3, HNC, HND etc.)
Strong work experience within a Pipefitting capacity (either a Fitter OR Welder) – this role will remain hands on for 60% of the time
Previous experience working in a similar role, ideally within a high precision & intricate environment
The ability to work read, interpret and work directly from complex isometric drawings
Competent IT skills with the ability to use Microsoft programs (Outlook, Excel etc.)
Working hours of the Pipefitter Charge Hand:
Monday to Thursday – 07:00 to 15:30
Friday – 07:00 to 12:00
In return, the Pipefitter Charge Hand will receive:
Pay Rate: UMBRELLA PAYE: £30.52 (£27.80 Base Rate + £100.72 Weekly Recognition Bonus)
Incentive Payment: £1,000.00 for every successful 3-month period worked
Travel Allowances: £400 Weekly allowance + £35 daily allowance (£575 per week) – you must live OVER 50 miles from the Leeds facility to qualify
Overtime: Frequently available paid at time & a half and double time (Sundays only)
Assignment Duration: 3 Month rolling assignment (often extended and sometimes offered permanent, but not guaranteed)
