What will you be doing?
Working towards the Commercial Catering Equipment Technician, Level 3 Apprenticeship
The broad purpose of the occupation is to install, commission, maintain and repair commercial catering equipment, such as combination ovens, fryers, grills and griddles, cooking ranges, dishwashers, microwave ovens etc. Equipment may be gas or electrical and may involve plumbing and electronic controls.
Throughout the duration of the programme, you will be working to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills and qualifications to perform the following duties:
Conduct servicing of commercial catering equipment in line with manufacturers’ specifications and/or legislation
Undertake fault finding and repairs of commercial catering equipment, for example replacing thermostat or pumps; including use of diagnostic equipment

Provide information and guidance to end-users on the correct operation and maintenance of commercial catering equipment
Complete documentation (written or digital) associated with the specified job for example, time sheets, maintenance records, written acceptance of work completed, commissioning sheets
Maintain tools, equipment and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including ensuring meters (typically Electric Multi Meter, Ohmmeter, Carbon Dioxide/Monoxide Meter, Flue Gas Analyser – this list is not exhaustive) are in calibrated date

The successful candidate will work closely with experienced professionals to learn how to implement LEAN tools and techniques in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while working towards a nationally recognised qualification
Key Responsibilities:
LEAN Process Improvement:
Learn and support the implementation of LEAN tools and methodologies (e.g., 5S, Kaisen, Value Stream Mapping) to improve manufacturing processes
Assist in identifying areas of waste and inefficiency and suggest solutions to improve workflow and productivity
Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance production performance and reduce costs
Machine Knowledge - Understand all machinery in the factory and their functions - Learn how to operate, set and Maintain all machines
Learn how to troubleshoot machine issues
Data Collection & Analysis
Collect and analyse data on production processes, quality metrics, and equipment performance
Assist in creating reports and presentations based on findings to support decision-making and process improvements
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and suggest improvements based on data-driven insights
Process Standardisation:
Help in developing and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent and efficient manufacturing processes
Support the team in training employees on new processes and standards as part of the continuous improvement cycle
Waste Reduction:
Learn how to identify different types of waste (e.g., overproduction, waiting, excess inventory) and support efforts to eliminate or reduce them
Assist in implementing strategies to minimise downtime, scrap, and rework in production areas
Workplace Organisation (5S):
Participate in 5S initiatives (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardise, Sustain) to maintain a clean, organised, and efficient work environment
Help with regular audits to ensure adherence to 5S practices
Cross-Department Collaboration:
Work with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and quality departments, to ensure that LEAN initiatives are aligned with business objectives
Assist in facilitating communication between departments to improve process flow and eliminate bottlenecks
Learning & Development:
Attend LEAN training sessions and workshops to develop a deep understanding of LEAN principles
Complete assignments and coursework as part of the apprenticeship program, applying new knowledge to real-world manufacturing scenarios
Work closely with mentors and experienced team members to gain practical skills in manufacturing and process improvement
Requirements will be, a strong interest in manufacturing and process improvement and a basic understanding of manufacturing processes.Training:Completing a Level 2 Lean Manufacturing Apprenticeship Standard, consisting of:

The vocational and academic training aspects are separated and delivered by separate teams. The vocational training and assessment is conducted, more often than not, on site according to the employers wishes.
Notice of dates is agreed well in advance of a site visit. Training and assessment is conducted both on and off the job, according to the needs of the course and the learner. Apprentices will be supported via an agreed training plan. Training will be discussed at enrolment and will include input from the employer, training provider and apprentice.
The apprentice will receive monthly workplace or virtual visits with a dedicated assessor.
The assessor will set individualised learning tasks as part of the apprentice’s workplace training that will incorporate your daily role and duties.
There is no set mandatory qualification within this Standard, however all training will be delivered to allow students to stretch to the highest grade at EPA (distinction). 8 weekly reviews will monitor progress by all parties.
Apprentices completing this standard, will gain 15 months of practical training and the remaining 3 months will be dedicated to End Point Assessment preparation.

The role is a full time permanent position.

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The WTI Field Resource Foreman (Foreman) oversees and performs the safety, efficiency, and quality of the WTI field service business. Safety is our primary priority and will be embedded into every discussion, meeting, and project. As the clear and established leader of the WTI crew, the Foreman is focused on safety, crew management, and efficient execution of all WTI projects assigned within their respective region. It is the Foreman's responsibility to deliver timely service to all WTI customers and manage exposure to risks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct the daily onsite safety brief before the start of the WTI project with the Sales Rep, customer, and the WTI crew. Inspect and ensure all surroundings, equipment, and tools and identify and discuss any safety concerns. Complete the Daily Hazard Analysis form and submit it to the Supervisors as applicable. The foreman also ensures that all technicians complete the Daily Hazard Analysis. Ensure all project communication is completed before the start of any WTI project. This includes but is not limited to communication with: WTI Field Resources Supervisor (Supervisor) daily and before starting new projects (ensure any/all communication with the Sales Reps is also shared with the Supervisor. Sales Rep weekly and/or as needed and before new projects. WTI crew members will discuss the scope of work, daily tasks, and the overall schedule. Customer/Client (as needed or required by the Sales Rep) daily and/or weekly. Efficient management of projects will include managing the crew's start and end times, daily productivity (hours, man-days, etc.), and ensuring tools and materials are available to complete the assigned project safely and efficiently. Complete the project per the approved scope of work or specification and after issuance by the Supervisor. Using a designated company-mandated reporting tool, the Foreman will complete an end-of-day and/or end-of-project walk-through to ensure the quality of workmanship and address any punch list items before leaving the job site. These items will include updates on work performed, materials consumed (T&M projects), and supplies purchased. Ensure all WTI Field Resources Reps (Field Reps) have a professional appearance and customer interaction while completing services for a customer. Responsible for ordering, tracking, and monitoring inventory and ensuring quarterly cycle counts are completed and submitted timely. Provide pricing for self-performing projects over $12,500. Submit all proposals of over $20,000 to the Supervisor for review and approval before submitting them to the GS Administrator for logging and distribution to the Sales Rep. Monitor and manage the Field Reps. Consult with the Supervisor to take appropriate steps or corrective measures to resolve employee work-related issues and necessary documentation. Work with the Supervisor to elevate the issues to HR as required. Coordinate with the Supervisor to create project schedules. Review time reports daily and make necessary corrections with the admin team. Attending all appropriate calls, meetings, and trainings. Perform any other duties and/or projects as required or assigned by the Supervisor or Regional Business Manager.

What will you be doing day to day?
As an Apprentice Nursery Practitioner, you will have the opportunity to rotate around the nursery rooms and Forest School, gaining hands-on experience in all areas of our nurseries.
