The Nuclear Degree Apprenticeship Scheme recruits and develops A-Level/B-TEC qualified (or equivalent) individuals to become the next generation of nuclear engineers, scientists and inspectors. Nuclear Degree Apprentices will develop an understanding of working on Nuclear Licensed Sites, and the regulation of such, supporting the safe design, build, commissioning, operation and decommissioning of the civil nuclear industry including power generation.
The Nuclear Degree Apprenticeship is a five-year programme, during which you will work towards the Level 6 Nuclear Scientist & Nuclear Engineer Standard.
This involves an initial phase of engineering appreciation and awareness, followed by a series of exciting placements within areas such as nuclear integration, plant operation, maintenance, testing, commissioning and nuclear safety, inspection and regulation.

The Role
We are seeking technicians who will be responsible for the technical uptime of our electric Remotely Operated Vehicles (eROVs) and USV’s within the European and African region.
You will support project mobilisations, equipment installation, equipment calibrations, equipment maintenance and technical fault finding. Therefore, you will get the opportunity to work hands on with the remote equipment underpinning the transition from conventional survey to remote and uncrewed survey.
Travel to project sites will be required for maintaining eROV systems, launch and recovery equipment, vessel mounted survey sensors and servicing of the vessel itself ensuring that components are operational to conduct investigation and inspections in accordance with the project deliverables.

AV Commissioning Engineer – This position will see you working with the Lead av engineer, PM & other junior AV engineers to get you what you need to be able to commission any systems in the timeframe laid out by the PM. You should be hands on but also able to delegate so you can concentrate on commissioning whenever needed. The role will be an evolving position responding to the requirements of the company, however the main duties will include:
Working closely with the AV Project manager, engineers & third party teams to get you what you need to commission ahead of attending site.
Working with the lead av engineer to ensure equipment is correctly setup before you get to site otherwise you may be required to do this, ie AVRs, screens etc.
Commissioning of Cinema surround systems/DSPs
Programming of Savant Systems
Programming of Lutron Homeworks QS, QSX, Ra2
Commissioning of Crestron (use of toolbox, debugger)
Programming of Crestron
Working with PM to produce I/O lists/Help with engineering schematics as they are produced
Front line support with PM for clients after system is handed over or in finishing stages when client may be calling, messaging etc
Good understanding of Networks, Vlans, able to use a laptop, VPN etc to diagnose issues with systems, able to setup static IPs on equipment & commission systems out of the box from default IPs
Experience Required:
Good knowledge AV Cinema systems & Surround sound
Able to read & understand AV technical drawings & schematics

Our 3 Year Apprenticeship Programme will see you develop both technically and personally, with the majority of your first year spent at SETA training centre in Southampton completing some of the following training: • Foundational knowledge units including General Safety and Statutory Requirements • Specialist Mechanical training including: o Bench Fitting o General Fabrication and Welding o Fluid Power
1 Day a week will be dedicated to the delivery of a BTEC Level 3 in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Once you’re equipped with your foundation knowledge, you’ll join us on-site for Year 2 and 3 where you’ll work alongside our teams and start gaining valuable hands-on experience and training to further your understanding and start applying what you’ve learnt. You’ll be assigned a mentor, who will oversee your development and training, offering valuable insights into career paths at Perenco.
Some of your activities on-site might look like the below:
Plan and execute scheduled preventive and breakdown maintenance activities on the following:
Rotating Equipment, including pumps, gas turbines, centrifugal compressors, gearbox and their associated sealing and lube oil systems
Hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Piping systems, including PSVs, valves, filters and associated equipment
Carry out all activities to company standards and procedures
Raise relevant permits within the agreed time period
Report relevant maintenance data for reliability analysis
Participate in failure investigations and identify reliability issues
Generate new work requests to highlight plant and equipment faults
Training:Our Apprentices will undertake a Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician, Level 3 (A level). This will include a full-time period of practical workshop based ‘off-the-job’ training at SETA in Southampton.
You will also begin a technical certificate (depending on your prior attainments) where you will be required to attend SETA one day a week over two academic years. After your initial training at SETA, you will be working towards your End Point Assessment.
Training Outcome:By the end of the apprentice programme, you’ll have developed your technical abilities as a qualified engineer, built your networks, and be on your way with further study with a varied career path ahead of you. Wytch Farm is Europe's largest known onshore oilfield and is situated in one of the most environmentally sensitive areas of the UK. It's operations are on the southern shores of Poole Harbour, Furzey Island, Wareham and at Kimmeridge Bay. Wytch Farm also has a significant processing facility in Wareham currently producing 13,000 boepd.Working Hours :Initially apprentices will work Monday- Friday 37.5 hours a week.
