We are looking to recruit an Apprentice Store Manager for our shop in Yeovil. We offer a permanent full-time (45 hours per week) position working a variety of shifts, 5 days from 7 each week.
What does the training involve?
Initial training period working alongside an experienced shop manager and developing your practical skills in retail management
A period of running your shop with high support from your Area Manager
Approximately 3-6 months into your training, you will take on full responsibility for our Yeovil shop while you will continue to develop your management skills, with the support of your area manager
Working towards a Level 4 Retail Manager apprenticeship qualification with Inspiro Learning, our approved training provider
Support with upskilling your maths and English (if required)
Completion of an independent end point assessment at the end of your training

As an apprentice, you will start in the warehouse, learning about motor parts, stock control, and warehouse operations. Over time, you will progress to the customer service side of the business while working towards your NVQ Level 2 Customer Service qualification.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Branch Manager in motivating delivery staff and maintaining excellent customer service standards.
Assist with sales, margins, costs, and overall branch performance according to company requirements.
Help implement promotional strategies and activities.
Support the management of cash, debtors, and stock systems in line with company procedures.
Ensure company stock is correctly and safely stored in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
Check and process all stock-related paperwork accurately.
Participate in regular stock takes and report any anomalies to the Branch Manager.
Assist with replenishing shop merchandise and maintaining a clean, professional branch appearance.
Help manage the upkeep and condition of all equipment, fixtures, and fleet vehicles.
Support the Branch Manager in managing costs, overheads, and profitability.
Liaise with suppliers and partners as required.
Monitor and report on slow-moving or redundant stock.
Assist in maintaining health and safety standards and ensuring staff awareness and compliance with company policy and relevant legislation.
Training:The training will take place at the apprentice's place of work.
Training will be given to members of staff, as well as a training provider who will go to the place of work of the apprentice. The successful candidate will work alongside our Sign manager, assisting with hands on tasks from start to finish of creating signage, banners, vehicle graphics and more.
One day you could be cutting self adhesive vinyl, another running our wide format printer, the next building and assembling a shop fascia, along with every stage of creating and completing visual display products for all types of markets.
The role will include training at every stage of creating signage, provided by line manager and senior members of the business.
100% of training will be carried out at our premises in Rainham Essex.
Areas covered will be but not restricted to:
General Signage, Fascias, Banners, Vehicle Graphics
Freestanding signs and displays including pavement signs and exhibition displays, advertising, site boards etc.
Post mounted signage including road signage, directional, traffic signs
Building signage for example, entry & exit signs, health and safety signs, fascia signs, window signs and manifestation
Digital wall decoration, wallpapers and textiles
Training:
Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will obtain a qualification for the Signage Technician Level 3
Training for both the apprenticeship and the relevant skills to succeed in the role will take place at the workplace, with no requirement to travel to the training provider, BPIF Training
The training and studying for the apprenticeship will be done remotely via Microsoft Teams/Zoom etc with visits from the tutor
Training Outcome:
There is a clear opportunity for the successful candidate to progress into a full time role within business
Whether it remains within the Signage area or moving into the areas of the business such as Workwear, Merchandise and PPE which may become available
